Following Pistol Peat’s shank job last week on the top five fantasy backs for the week I was enlisted to sub in for Week 11 and give our readers some quality advice. All joking aside it’s a sweet opportunity for me to cut my teeth with the readers and if I totally bomb then Pistol has ammo for his critics. Week Ten brought us some stellar performances on that fantasy gridiron, three of which came from the New Orleans Saints backfield oddly enough. Pierre Thomas (1st, 22 pts.), Mark Ingram (T-2nd, 21 pts.) and Darren Sproles (5th, 18 pts.) put up huge games against a injury riddled Dallas defense. It’s safe to say that this has never, nor will ever happen again for the Saints. Good luck picking one to follow that up this week. Marshawn Lynch was a beast as usual and Adrian Peterson’s pair of Thursday night T.D.’s vaulted this pair into the top five backs of the week. Stashing Andre Brown paid of for many owners while Le’veon Bell also showed a pulse, thanks to a third quarter trip to the end-zone against Buffalo. Week 11 is now upon us, with Playoff positioning up for grabs across the fantasy landscape we present our predicted Top Five backs.   5.  Frank Gore AP Photo Before Dallas was brushed aside last week the ‘Boys moved the ball well on the ground. Look for the 49ers defense to give Gore the opportunity to run by keeping this game close. Kaepernick will use the Read-Option to get Gore good looks as the Receiving corps looks as depleted as ever over in San Fran. Gore is always good indoors and this will be a sneaky good play for Week 11. 4.  Adrian Peterson AP Photo All Day failed to get 100 yards for the fourth time in the last five outings but has scored in the last three to heal those wounds. The last time AD played in Seattle he went off for 182 yds and this Seahawk’s D is giving up yards on the ground. Do you think Ponder, Cassel, Freeman, Tarkenton (OK, maybe Fran) is going to be able to pass on these guys? Me either 3.  Reggie Bush AP Photo Reggie has been a nice surprise this year carrying the load in Detroit, outside of those darn Joique Bell vultured T.D.’s at the goal line. Pittsburgh’s D is a shell of it’s once dominant self and I look for Bush to blow through to that second level often on Sunday. Troy Polamalu should have his hands full bracketing Megatron all day while Reggie goes off. #bushlash 2.  LeSean McCoy AP Photo McCoy had been wonderful all year before Chip Kelly decided to limit his touches for some reason. Weeks Seven through Nine McCoy had 45 carries and averaged 8.3 pts/week. In the Five games Shady had at least 20 carries he’s put up 17.6 pts. per contest. Remember way back in Week One when McCoy went off for 184 yards against the Redskins? This time Shady does it in his backyard with a Quarterback who will have more completions than torn hamstrings in a game, which has been a breath of fresh air for Philly Fans. 1.  Marshawn Lynch AP Photo Am I the only person who thinks that when Marshawn Lynch talks it sounds like the Cookie Monster? The guy is simply a Beast and this week he proves me right. Minnesota’s defense has been as competent and Christian Ponder has this year so look for Lynch to ‘taste the rainbow’ a couple times this week. This projects to be one Lynch’s best performances of the year and will be a nice send off before you have to struggle through his bye next week. Extra Points: Keep and eye on these backs as well in Week 11. Brian Leonard vs ATL Jamal Charles @ DEN Andre Ellington @ JAX Eddie Lacy @ NYG Danny Woodhead @ MIA Matt Forte will be emphasized in Chicago along with Andre Brown in Green Bay against the Packers. Cold weather across the Midwest and Eastern Seaboard will also garner more rushing touches, oddly enough its something to keep an eye on. Look for Shane Vereen to return from injury in a solid affair against a good Panthers D and Alfred Morris will hang on to the ball against Philly this week and be a solid play as well.
