The Indianapolis Colts put DT, Eric Foster on IR today, as well as rookie OT, Ben Ijalana. Foster and Ijalana join LB, Gary Brackett, S, Melvin Bullitt and QB Peyton Manning (might as well be on IR) as Colts whose season has prematurely ended. At this point, as one of the seemingly few die-hard Colts fans left, I’m leaning towards wanting them to just go down in flames (that’s not happening already?) and secure that # 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Then all off-season my mind can be flooded with the happy thoughts of selecting a “for sure” replacement for Peyton Manning (Andrew Luck) or trading down in a Herschel Walker-type trade. Another thought in this sad Colts fan’s head is what is going on with all these injuries? Last year the Colts were decimated by injuries. Even before last year there were years where it seemed like the Colts were adding to the Injured Reserve list every week. They got rid of the wasted roster spot that was Bob Sanders, (Who signed with the Chargers, and was promptly placed on IR. I still love ya Bob. You just didn’t live up to that HUGE contract. Sad.) but the football Gods (or is it the Colts Medical staff) do not seem to care, as players are dropping like flies again this year. As an American, and a Colts fan, I need to blame someone. I just don’t know where that blame lies. Alright, here’s the sick ankle injury to Eric Foster. Check us out on Facebook, Hair of the Dog Sports Blog. Follow me on Twitter @coldy4goldy.
