The Indianapolis Colts reached a deal to keep a star player with the team for the foreseeable future after a Pro Bowl appearance for the 2023 season. The move came as the Colts were getting set to start their offseason workout program.
The Colts had a couple of crucial contracts they needed to take care of this offseason. In March, they signed wide receiver Michael Pittman to a three-year extension worth $70 million. Pittman will be a key contributor on the team with a star defensive tackle for the next few seasons.
According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Colts signed DeForest Buckner to a two-year extension worth $46 million. He’ll be with the team through the 2026 season.

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Buckner with the No. 7 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He’s earned All-Pro honors twice and has made three Pro Bowl appearances.
Buckner recorded 81 tackles and eight sacks sacks last season. He has 544 tackles and 61 sacks in his eight-year NFL career. Buckner is a key part of the defense, and his extension is crucial for a Colts team that looks to contend in the AFC playoff hunt for seasons to come with second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson.
