The time is almost here. The debut of the Andrew Luck lead Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football. It’s gonna be a good one; let’s look at a few points to take note of as we head into the game at San Diego. San Diego hasn’t had had a lot of luck creating turnovers this year, nor has their defense been that great. The Colts should be able to take advantage of this whether through the air or on the ground. (Photo credit: AP Photo/Brent R. Smith) Don’t be surprised if Trent Richardson has his breakout game this week. He has finally had some time with this offense now and is facing a less than mediocre defense. Luck should have a nice game. As I said the defense in San Diego hasn’t been great and Luck has been. As long as Pep Hamilton doesn’t hold him back, that is. Furthermore, this defense has looked great all season, especially in the secondary (as I predicted) and I expect it to continue this week. More turnovers coming in week 6 for this Colts defense. Speaking of the defense, LaRon Landry is once again out this week. Hopefully he can return for the game against the Denver Broncos, though. Delano Howell has done a spectacular job filling in for Landry but the Colts could very much use his athleticism and tenacity on the field. Something to note about the Broncos’ game: The Colts are playing a Monday night game, in California, heading into a short week against the Denver Broncos. Not a good sign, but this team has shown resilience in the face of adversity so I’m not too worried about it. As long as the Colts don’t take the Chargers lightly after beating a good Seattle Seahawks team last week they should come out victorious this week. And then onto the game we’ve all been waiting for. Go Colts!

MNF Week 6: The Rise of Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck is a star. He was born to be a star and he was bred to be a star. Ever since he was a junior at Stanford, he’s been touted the next big star in the NFL. No, he didn’t win a Heisman like Robert Griffin III did. No, he never won a National Championship like Cam Newton did. But ask any NFL scout, GM or head coach, and they’ll tell you if they had to do the 2012 draft...

Luck to make MNF debut against Chargers

Andrew Luck won't need permission to stay up for the second half of "Monday Night Football." Luck will make his Monday night debut when he and the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts visit Philip Rivers and the enigmatic San Diego Chargers. It'll be a big deal for Luck, especially if the Colts (4-1) beat the Chargers (2-3).

Double A Breakdown: Week 6 - Colts vs Chargers

The Indianapolis Colts will travel to San Diego to face the Chargers in what is Andrew Luck's Monday Night Football debut. The Colts are coming off a huge win against the Seahawks and are now on a 3 game winning streak. The Chargers are coming off a loss against the Raiders. Whenever the Colts play the Chargers, it always seems to be a close game, especially if the game is...

Colts fans: Luck is our franchise now

The concern started from the blue and white faithful on March 7 2012 and then trickled over to April 26 2012 the day Indianapolis Colts selected their new franchise player. But the doubts are few and far between now despite the player responsible for making the Colts a must-see team during most of his 14 seasons doing the same thing almost 1100 miles to the West in Denver for the...

The Andrew Luck – Peyton Manning Situation Was a Win-Win For Everyone

This is Skip Bayless’ fault, so I hesitate to even speak on it because it is giving him the attention he wants, but for those of us who like to use common sense it is important people realize what is going on. The Indianapolis Colts gave up PEYTON MANNING for Andrew Luck? SERIOUSLY? — Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) October 15, 2013 It is a trolling tweet, but it forced Jim...

Irsay on releasing Manning: Colts wanted more than one Super Bowl

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay’s decision to draft Andrew Luck and let Peyton Manning go came down to winning Super Bowls. From Irsay’s interview with Jarret Bell of USA Today: “We’ve changed our model a little bit, because we wanted more than one of these,” Irsay says, flicking up his right hand to show his Super Bowl XLI championship ring. “(Tom) Brady never had...

Irsay says Peyton pushed for Luck

Things could have ended very badly, with a very bitter taste, for both Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Thanks to Andrew Luck, though -- and a little career renaissance by Manning -- both sides can head into this week's Broncos-Colts contest saying they're happy with the way it worked out. Colts owner Jim Irsay told Jarrett Bell of USA Today this week that, as...

Peyton Manning Told Jim Irsay He’d Be ‘Crazy’ Not to Take Andrew Luck in NFL Draft As Colts Looked to Part Ways

Things could have ended very badly, with a very bitter taste, for both Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Thanks to Andrew Luck, though — and a little career renaissance by Manning — both sides can head into this week’s Broncos-Colts contest saying they’re happy with the way it worked out. Colts owner Jim Irsay told Jarrett Bell of USA Today this week that, as the...

Dominant Chargers Shock Colts on MNF

The game was billed as Andrew Luck's debut on Monday Night Football. Instead, it turned into San Diego's most balanced win of the season. Ryan Mathews ran for 102 yards and the defense kept the Colts out of the end zone as the Chargers scored a 19-9 win.

Manning advised Irsay to draft Luck

Tweet Many have questioned whether or not the Indianapolis Colts should have held on to Peyton Manning, despite the immediate success Indianapolis has had since drafting Andrew Luck first overall in 2012. The fact that Manning has played so well for the Denver Broncos since his release from Indianapolis last year gives some validity to those...

Peyton Manning told Jim Irsay to draft Andrew Luck

As Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning gets ready to travel to Indianapolis to take on his former team, Colts owner Jim Irsay told USA TODAY Sports that Manning advised him to draft Andrew Luck prio to his released in 2012. “He said, ‘You’ve got to take Andrew,’” Irsay said. “‘You have to. You’re crazy if you don’t.’” Manning certainly helped Irsay make the right...

The Chargers beat the Colts 19-9 on Monday Night Football

The San Diego Chargers have beat the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football 19-9. Time of possession was once again huge for the Chargers. The Chargers possessed the ball 39 minutes to the Colts’ 21. The offense was able keep Andrew Luck off the field, which didn’t allow the Colts to take advantage of the Chargers’ weak secondary. Philip Rivers finished the night with...

Jim Irsay: Peyton Manning insisted on Colts drafting Andrew Luck

The winter of 2012 was full of difficult decisions for team owner Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts. But there was not a tougher decision than the one he had to make with homegrown icon Peyton Manning. As Manning tried to rebound from four surgical procedures on his neck, Irsay had to decided whether he would stick with Manning, or use Indy's top overall pick in the draft...

Rivers, Novak Lead San Diego To Win

Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers slowly put to rest all that talk about Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts' offense. It was hard for Luck to pull off another comeback, or even get into the end zone, while standing on the sideline.

Reggie Wayne 9th player in NFL history to record 1,000 catches

Reggie Wayne has seen a resurgence in his career since Andrew Luck took over for Curtis Painter -- who of course took over for Peyton Manning. The Colts receiver caught 75 passes in 2011 the only season of the Painter era and it was Wayne's lowest total since 2003. But after the team drafted Luck he and Wayne connected 106 times last season for 1355 yards and his career took...
