As many of us know, the Chargers have been experiencing some injury problems throughout camp. But how serious are they and how much of an impact will they bear heading into the pre-season? The Chargers, as of now, have one key backup and three starters that are injured. The starters include major  WR free agent pickups Robert Meachem (knee) and Eddie Royal (groin), who are expected to be the two very key targets for QB Philip Rivers. Meachem was projected/expected to be San Diego’s number one receiver, while Royal would be a huge impact in the inside pass game. In addition, starting OT Jared Gaither is also not taking snaps in practices due to cramping issues. Surely, San Diego’s offense would struggle without the immense size, strength, and talent that Gaither brings to the line.
