Is the NFL playing favorites? Why haven’t they said anything about the late hit that Clay Matthews put on Colin Kaepernick when he was clearly out-of-bounds?  Not only was it a late hit it looked like a clothesline to the neck too. Is Matthews the NFL’s chosen one? Is he aloud to do whatever he wants to and get away with it? By his own comments before the Packers played the 49ers, he said he would hit Kaepernick as often as he could. The thing is, he should have limited those hits to in the field of play. Now some are asking if Matthews is a dirty player. Everyone can see what he did except for the NFL. They should have stepped in a fined Matthews for his tactics in the game. It was clear that he was trying to knock Kaepernick out of the game if he could. The hit really pissed off head coach Jim Harbaugh and he didn’t take it lightly. Make no mistake about it, there is plenty of bad blood between the Green Bay Packers and the San Fransisco 49ers. Harbaugh won’t forget the way Matthews played the game Sunday, he is saying that Matthews is a dirty player. He should have never left his feet to make the hit on the QB when he could see he was head out of bounds. Yet he gets no fine or no warning from the NFL. Why Not?

  • Suh is a dirty player that has repeated violations. Matthews had a late hit out of bounds and not a cheap shot like Suh. No comparison here, very poor journalism on this article.
  • Yes, Suh is a dirty player, but so is Matthews. Big mouth, spouting off all the trash talk, gonna get the quarterback, blah, blah. Doesn't care if he hurts the guy or not. Mr Tuff Guy, look at me with my long blonde hair, I'm so cool. Ref should have thrown his sorry @$$ out of the game and the NFL should have fined him $100K to teach him a lesson. and does Mr Awesome coach say anything, no he's a good aggressive player. Somebody test him for PEDs?? Sorry Packer backers. Green Bay is turning into a bunch of gangsters like a few other teams. Glorify that!

  • Yes it was a late hit out of bounds, but a clothes line from behind, give me a break. I agree with above comment very poor journalism.
  • How is the man suppose to stop midair???

    And "aloud"....not a word....especially for a journalist....
Learn to write....or proofread... It's ALLOWED!!!!
  • Stop mid-air? He wasn't mid-air until he was already OUT OF BOUNDS. Wake up and watch the same game the rest of us did. Matthews is so full of himself. And Harbaugh was trying to protect his players, UNLIKE some coaches who encourage their players to go in for the ki11. What was McCarthy doing? Smirking on the sidelines. Other coaches would have had more influence on their players to STFU!! Did Green Bay do that? NO!! Really classy, coach. Keep being the role model you preach to be - NOT.
  • STFU nopackerbacker. you're just pissed cuz you dont have any good players on your damn team. Harbaugh is full of himself. He freaken complains over a penality that is in his favor. They guy is garbage and he should be the one thrown out of the game. We are playing football, maybe they all need to grow up and play with some balls. Matthews was clearly was in mid-air when that he ran out of bounce. Clearly was a legal hit. Suh is the most dirty player in the league and Matthews is no where near that mark. Matthews plays with skill, and suh just is garbage and cheats. Sorry for having a true football player on the team that respects the game and plays from the heart to win, not cheat!

Clay Matthews’ Stupid Play Highlights How Strong Packers Are

Arguably the watershed moment of Sunday’s Packers-49ers game was the Superman-esque hit that Clay Matthews gave to Colin Kaepernick. There’s no question that Matthews wasn’t just a tad late. The plane had already taxied onto the runway by the time he showed up at the gate. That’s how late he was. Kaepernick’s entire body was past the white out-of-bounds line and still Matthews...

Clay Matthews says he's an 'awesome player,' not a dirty one

Don’t bother complimenting Clay Matthews on his play — he already knows how good he is. The Packers linebacker fielded questions from reporters on Thursday, and several were, unsurprisingly, centered around last Sunday’s questionable hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick the accusations of dirty play that followed from Niners coach Jim Harbaugh. Mike McCarthy, Packers Taking High Road, Not Responding to Jim Harbaugh’s Comments About Clay Matthews

The Packers want none of what Jim Harbaugh‘s cooking.
