The Football Fan Spot:
After serving a 2 game suspension and missing his entire rookie year with an Achilles tear, 2011 2nd round pick Mikel Leshoure is ready to finally make his regular season debut for the Lions. It’s known that he’ll get carries, but it’s unclear how many he’ll get and if he’ll start over Kevin Smith, who has rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries in 2 starts in Leshoure’s absence.
The Lions have only said that he will “certainly be involved heavily in the game plan and we’ll go from there,” which is about as vague as it gets, though some people in the know, such as ESPN.com’s Kevin Seifert and ESPN’s Chris Mortensen believe he’ll be heavily involved. It’s looking like a less than ideal situation in fantasy leagues so I wouldn’t start either until I had a better understanding of how the carries will be divided up, which should take at least a week. For what’s it’s worth, in the offseason, the plan was reportedly to use Leshoure like the Saints use Mark Ingram and Smith

Running back Mikel Leshoure will start for the Lions on Sunday, according to the team's website, marking the regular-season debut for the 2011 second-round pick. Leshoure missed his rookie season with a torn Achilles tendon, and recently finished serving a two-game suspension after being arrested for marijuana possession twice during this past offseason. "I am pretty...
Could of gotten a better picture Juan?
Mikel Leshoure returns from a two game suspension to the Lions lineup, but we will have to wait and see how the Lions deploy him against the Titans. He has limited action in preseason, but didn’t impress in that limited action. It will be difficult to come back from a torn Achilles and I’m not so sure he will be 100% at any point this season...
Detroit running back Mikel Leshoure started and carried the ball 26 times for 100 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut Sunday against the Titans. Meanwhile, backup Kevin Smith didn't have a carry.Fantasy Spin:Leshoure also caught four balls, topping the projected 15 touches by 15 Sunday. The Lions need to run the ball to be effective so look for Leshoure to continue to be a...
Mikel Leshoure will start today for the Lions at running back against the Titans. Leshoure gets the starting nod over Kevin Smith, and is a nice flex play option in all formats.
The Titans have given up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.
The Detroit Lions are starting Mikel Leshoure at running back against the Tennessee Titans in his first NFL game after a torn left Achilles tendon wiped out his rookie season and a two-game suspension delayed his second.
Leshoure was a second-round draft pick out of Illinois in 2011, and he is starting Sunday instead of Kevin Smith.
The Lions also scratched safety Louis Delmas...
Mikel Leshoure was among the few bright spots from Detroit's cruel loss at Tennessee on Sunday. Lions' insider Mike Mady breaks down the good, bad and ugly as Detroit falls to 1-2 on the season.
Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith will have additional competition in the Lions' backfield this week with the return of Mikel Leshoure (suspension/Achilles).Fantasy Spin:Smith received most of the reps with the first team this week and will certainly be the starter, but fantasy owners should pay attention to how the Lions use Leshoure and re-evaluate Smith's value after the game.

1). Mikel LeShoure DET RB - 134 total yards 1 TD
LeShoure is showing the benefits of being the primary back of the Detroit Lions. I would have no fear starting him from here on out.
2). Tashard Choice BUF RB - 99 total yards
With now both CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson going down with injuries, Choice is the go-to back in Buffalo. Should be a solid...
Sit em, Start em – Week Three
Mikel LeShoure – Mikel LeShoure could have a big game in his NFL debut if given enough carries. He will take over as the team’s unquestioned goal-line back and as the most talented back on the Lions roster he will get all the work he can handle going forward. LeShoure has RB2 upside this week with a flex3 floor, so he is a big risk/reward...
After a disappointing loss last weekend against the San Francisco 49ers, the Detroit Lions head to Music City looking to rebound against a struggling Tennessee Titans team.
The Titans who enter the game sitting at 0-2 are certainly not anywhere close talent wise to what the San Francisco 49ers are especially on the defensive side of the ball. Tennessee is a mess right now however...
3 for 12
That is the week three Detroit Lions stat of the week. The Lions were just three for 12 on third down, and that simply is not going to get it done. That means that drives sputter out, that means that the Lions are first not getting enough down on their first two downs, and it also means this is just a big play offense.
They sure did try to change that that this week at the...
