It looks like Patriots tight end Jake Ballard still isn’t ready to get on the field since he’s now been placed on the PUP list for the start of training camp. People seem to not realize how serious microfracture surgery is because of how difficult it is to come back from. Ballard ended up tearing up his knee back in February 2012 during Super Bowl XLVI and he still isn’t right. Ben Volin of the Boston Globe doesn’t believe Ballard is a lock to make the Patriots final roster. Watching Ballard in OTAs, hard not to notice he looked a little stiff. Don't think he's a lock for the 53, even with TE issues — Ben Volin (@BenVolin) July 23, 2013 Now people might understand why the Giants waived Ballard last season in hopes of placing him on injured reserve.  They knew he wasn’t going to be ready and now he still isn’t.
