Pro Sports Daily:
The Jets still don’t have a timetable for the return of receiver Santonio Holmes. If Holmes had his way the would be right now.
“He definitely wants to get back as soon as possible” receiver Stephen Hill said via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “If he could have played on Saturday he would have played. He kept saying ‘I can play. I can play.’ But we’re just like ‘Look Tone….’”
Holmes ran routes during pregame warmups prior to the preseason contest against the Jaguars with Geno Smith throwing the passes.

Some of Santonio Holmes’ teammates have been impressed with what they’ve seen from him lately as he continues to work his way back from Lisfranc surgery.
“Tone is very anxious,” wide receiver Stephen Hill said, via the New York Daily News. “He’s definitely ready to come back. You can tell . . . Everything I hear from him, everything he talks to me about is, ‘Hey...
While it’s not funny when someone gets hurt, I can’t help but giggle at the fact that Jets punter Robert Malone injured himself while getting into a hot tub. It just seems so odd. Malone said back "went out" as he was getting in hot tub last wk + went out again a few days later. Getting 8hrs of treatment daily #jets — Kimberley A. Martin (@KMart_LI) August 19, 2013...
A person familiar with the injury says New York Jets fullback Lex Hilliard will miss the entire season with a broken shoulder blade that requires surgery.
Hilliard was injured during practice Tuesday when he went down after a running play. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the severity of Hilliard's injury....
The Jets always seem to be involved in a media circus, from Darrelle Revis losing his cool on the radio, to Tebow mania, to pretty much anything that comes out of Rex Ryan’s mouth. Well now everyone in the organization is properly equipped with “media bridge’ cards to aid in responding to reporters’ tough questions. It should be interesting moving forward to see who actually...
New York Jets linebacker Quentin Coples exited Saturday’s
preseason contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars with an ankle injury. There
have since been reports that the second-year pro suffered a hairline fracture to
his ankle, which would sideline him into the regular season. The Jets didn’t
confirm those reports, but they did announce yesterday that Coples will undergo
Geno Smith’s ankle looked better yesterday. His decision making? That still needs work.
The Jets rookie quarterback was back on the field after missing Saturday’s preseason win over the Jaguars because of a sprained right ankle. Smith moved better in practice yesterday than he has since suffering the injury on Aug. 9 but he still had a rough day to start off a crucial week in...
Usually preseason games don’t have a lot riding on them, but this is not the case for the New York Jets. With Mark Sanchez taking the backseat to Geno Smith this week, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg is calling on the rookie to “turn it loose.”
New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith will finally be getting a chance to start this week. Smith would have started game two but sprained his ankle kept him out of the game so the team hasn’t had a chance yet to see what the kid could do. If he’s healthy they’ll finally see what he has when they face the New York Giants. The team says its because of the ankle injury but I’m...
After six years with the Baltimore Ravens and last four with the New York Jets, linebacker Bart Scott called it quits this week.
Despite a setback in last week's preseason contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie has reason to believe his defense will be elite again in 2013.
BY NICK ST. DENISAfter Geno Smith spent last Wednesday throwing four interceptions while hobbling on his injured foot, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said the rookie quarterback had his "worst day," which was "brutal."This Wednesday, Ryan sang a different tune."It wasn’t brutal, that’s for sure," Ryan quipped. "That was a great day. I don’t...
