Jim Harbaugh made notable change at Chargers’ OTAs

Jim Harbaugh has done things a lot differently from his predecessors since he took over as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, and we saw another example of that when organized team activities began on Monday.

Bridget Condon of NFL Network shared some of her observations from the Chargers’ first day of OTAs, and one of them is that no music was playing.

“In every other Chargers practice that I’ve been to before without Jim Harbaugh, they played a lot of music,” Condon said. “So, that’s an interesting note.”

Condon also said she noticed a strong “emphasis on conditioning” that was unlike anything she has seen from the Chargers in recent years.

The common theme since Harbaugh took over seems to be discipline. There have also been interesting tidbits about the motivational tactics the former Michigan coach is using in L.A.

One concern with Harbaugh is that he will be too strict and not connect with today’s NFL players, but the 60-year-old has a proven track record.

Harbaugh has won at every stop, including in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. There is no reason to question his methods, even if they lead to less fun practices.
