Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49er’s have been off since October 19, almost two weeks due to a Thursday night game before the bye. Could too much time put some rust on a 49er team that seemed to be turning up the heat? Now, after such a long layoff, there could be some factors tat could slow the 49er’s march to the playoffs. The Aldon Smith incident aside, it’s been quiet on the 49er front, but come Sunday, the 49ers will have to get the wrinkles out quick. Harbaugh spoke to KNBR in San Francisco with Murph and Mac about the layoff, and his new weapon filled offense. “Yeah, I mean, there’s that worry and we’ll be back on the practice field today and get a workout in and see exactly where we’re at. But … we’ve come off some layoffs in the past and it’s been good, so you just get back out there and address that. The flip side of that is everybody in a football organization, especially the players, there comes a time where you need to take a knee, sip water and make a push for the second half of the campaign.” “You never know. When is it good and then you start talking about momentum or this or that. It is where it is, and right in the middle of the season seems like as good a place as any.” On his offense: “His role (Vernon Davis) is top-notch player on our team, well-respected, fine person, does a great job. Every single week, you could pick out, ‘Why didn’t this [happen]?’ … Every week you could pick out someone that might not have gotten as many balls as you think they could have or should have. But the main thing is our football team is locked in on overcoming those obstacles and winning these games and that’s the most important thing.” var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
