Apparently LaQuan Williams didn’t follow the 2011 Patriots very closely. And who can blame him? The former Maryland Terrapin had his own rookie season with the Ravens to worry about. The third-year wide receiver recently signed with New England. Williams asked Chad Johnson via Twitter if he had any tips for learning the offensive playbook quickly. Johnson famously couldn’t learn the complex system, which resulted in “Ochocinco” catching just 15 passes for 276 yards and one touchdown. Check out Williams’ tweet below. @ochocinco any tips on how to pick up on this NE playbook quick?— LaQuan Williams (@i_amQUAN) November 07, 2013Filed under: Headlines, NESN Staff, New England Patriots

New England Patriots Midseason Report Card: Rookies

We are now past the midpoint of the 2013 season, and the Patriots head off into their bye week atop the AFC East with a 7-2 record. With so many rookies stepping in and playing huge roles for the Patriots up to this point, why not slap a grade on them? To decide these grades, I have taken into account expectations, performance, place on the depth chart, and the “eye test.” Jamie...

Brady doesn't tire of talking about rest

Rob Ninkovich Says His Foot Should Be Fine

In what can only be described as a good sign, Rob Ninkovich was present on the practice field on Tuesday. Rob injured his foot in the game against the Steelers. While he didn't return to the field, he did return to the sideline and appeared to move fine, without a limp or a walking boot. Ninkovich took time to talk with reporters about his injury on Tuesday, and his words...

Patriots coaches happy with Aaron Dobson's progression

With a wide receiver corps in flux and a tight end squad flipped upside down due to injuries and crime, the pressure to produce has been on wide receiver Aaron Dobson basically since he stepped off the stage at the draft. Now halfway through the season and heading into a bye week, the rookie wideout seems to finally be settling in. "You see some things each week that, you...

Tom Brady, Stevan Ridley Carried Patriots’ Offense Against Porous Pittsburgh Defense (Film Review)

The Patriots’ offense definitely had its best game of the season. But they were also facing a defense that is in shambles. Tom Brady‘s accuracy looked much improved and Rob Gronkowski looked to be at full speed, but Pittsburgh also left the tight end single-covered far too often and did not appear to adjust their zones in coverage to the plays around them. Troy Polamalu, always...

Belichick No Change, No Surprise. All is Good in Foxborough.

Bill Belichick is not changing his regular routine of rigorous and emotionless coaching and film watching. This comes about since Denver Broncos Head Coach John Fox (58 years of age) felt tightening in his chest while playing golf in North Carolina and since Houston Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak (51) collapsed at halftime during the Indianapolis-Texans game on Sunday night football...
