He hasn’t been much of a surprise to Philadelphia Eagles fans but to the rest of the NFL, RB LeSean McCoy has taken it by storm. After having a career year in 2011 and being named to his first Pro Bowl and All Pro 1st team.  His 2012 season was a different story as he suffered a concussion in week 11 vs Washington Redskins and missing 4 games. He finished the season with a mediocre stat line: Rushing Receiving Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS Att Yds TD Lng Y/A Y/G A/G Rec Yds Y/R TD Lng R/G Y/G YScm RRTD Fmb AV 2012 24 PHI RB 25 12 12 200 840 2 34 4.2 70.0 16.7 54 373 6.9 3 36 4.5 31.1 1213 5 4 7 Career 64 50 958 4496 33 66 4.7 70.3 15.0 235 1829 7.8 8 70 3.7 28.6 6325 41 10 37 Provided by Pro-Football-Reference.com: View Original Table Generated 10/18/2013. His season was on par with the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles dismal season as is lead to a 4-12 finish and the end of Andy Reid’s tenure. 2013 has been a showcase for the Harrisburg, PA native. He has been the main weapon on the Chip Kelly offense in both rushing and receiving. McCoy has been a human joystick looking like a mix between Barry Sanders and Dante Hall. He and DeSean Jackson have been the main reasons for the 3-3 record this year and have their Eagles sitting on top of the NFC East. While McCoy is sitting as the number 1 rusher in the NFL having 52 more yards than the closest rusher. DeSean Jackson is reaping the benefits of McCoys success as he is sitting at number 2 in receiving yards as McCoy has given the defenses a rushing/receiving threat to think about out of the backfield. In 6 games McCoy has: Rushing Receiving Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS Att Yds TD Lng Y/A Y/G A/G Rec Yds Y/R TD Lng R/G Y/G YScm RRTD Fmb AV 2013 25 PHI RB 25 6 6 123 630 3 41 5.1 105.0 20.5 15 241 16.1 0 70 2.5 40.2 871 3 1 Career 64 50 958 4496 33 66 4.7 70.3 15.0 235 1829 7.8 8 70 3.7 28.6 6325 41 10 37 Provided by Pro-Football-Reference.com: View Original Table Generated 10/18/2013. His dual threat capability mixed with his elusiveness has made him a nightmare for defences. You may slow him down in the rushing game but he will burn you with his receiving skills out of the backfield. Chip Kelly has really played to his strengths this season and McCoy is finally in an offense that will highlight his talent for all 4 quarters.  His stats have seen much improvement in Kelly’s offense and that won’t change as Kelly has shown the confidence in McCoy as he doesn’t shy away from rushing on 3rd down situations. McCoy has also become a safety blanket for both Michael Vick and Nick Foles in their “Alert Check downs”. McCoy did have many successful games under Reid though majority of his rushes came in “garbage” time as they were running out the clock or playing it safe. Reid has been known for his pass happy offense and it very seldom involved McCoy, with the years McCoy had in 2010/2011 it almost seem like a waste.  The Eagles do although have Andy Reid to thank for picking up the Pittsburgh Panther as he is showing to be a steal in the 2nd round. Denver Broncos Knowshon Moreno, Indianapolis Colts Donald Brown and Arizona Cardinals Chris “Beanie” Wells were all selected in the 1st round in 2009 before McCoy. None of them have even come close the success McCoy has had in the NFL. Click here to view the embedded video. Nothing is for certain with 12 games remaining in the regular season but LeSean McCoy is on pace for a career year. He is projected to finish the season with 2,323 TOTAL yards. 1,680 Rushing Yards 643 Receiving Yards. More than likely not his numbers will be different from this but it’s not a bad benchmark to look at. One thing that is certain is being a dual threat option in any offense will only keep the fantasy points coming while making the stat line look that much more impressive. Air or Land McCoy will produce and that’s a very positive thing for the Eagles and his NFL career. At 25 years old McCoy still has plenty of good football left and one of the plus sides of being an elusive back is you’re not taking the amount of punishment the  physical RB do such as  Marshawn Lynch or Steven Jackson. McCoy success will only create second guessing in defences and will allow Chip Kelly to use it as an advantage while it creates more space for players like DeSean Jackson and even TE Zach Ertz to make plays. Michael Vick: ‘I’m not playing this week’

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick told the media Thursday after practice at the NovaCare Complex that his injured hamstring is still not 100 percent, and he wont be playing Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. “I’m not playing this week,” said Vick. “Every day I’m just working and trying to get better. I just can’t rush it.” Vick

Michael Vick out for Cowboys game, says, 'I'm not playing Sunday'

Michael Vick announced Thursday that he will not be playing Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Let LeSean McCoy Loose: How The Eagles Can Crush Rival Cowboys

For the first time since the Andy Reid era, the Philadelphia Eagles are on a two-win streak. They've averaged nearly 450 yards per game and are the No. 1 rushing offense in the league. That might sound like a solid team, but they're still tied for first with Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys. Romo has done an excellent job so far this season and has for the most part kept analysts...

Eagles defense face stiff challenge against Cowboys offense

While the focus has been on the quarterback situation between an injured Michael Vick and the impressive play of his fill in Nick Foles, the sub plot of today's game against the Cowboys is how can the struggling Eagles defense stop an explosive Dallas passing attack.

Vick said he’s out, Eagles say he’s questionable

Something weird is going on in Philly. On Thursday quarterback Mike Vick declared himself to be out for Sunday against the Cowboys due to a hamstring injury suffered 12 days ago. On Friday however the team officially called him questionable. So how can Vick be 50-50 to play (which is what questionable means) if he says he’s out? One possible explanation is that Vick is wrong...

Vick: Hamstring 'worse than what I thought'

A discouraged Michael Vick said Wednesday he hopes his hamstring injury isn’t a long-term one. Vick has already missed 1½ games with a nagging hamstring injury that is healing very slowly and it now looks very unlikely he’ll be able to play against the Cowboys at the Linc on Sunday. When will he be back? He has no idea. “I want to get back out there but I can’t” Vick...

Cowboys Versus Eagles: Staff Predictions

We believe in Chip Kelly and the Eagles is the only way I can understand our staff picks. In such an important divisional game, I would expect more diversity amongst the picks, but our green blood is showing through, as most of us here are picking the Eagles. Hal Greenblatt I’m going with the group and believe Nick Foles will throw all over Dallas (and that Romo will throw all...

Cowboys, Eagles best of bad NFC East

With the Giants and Redskins both reeling with a combined 1-10 record, the dreadful NFC East appears to be a two-team race. The Eagles (3-3) and Cowboys (3-3) are apparently the class of this division, which is to say they are far less awful than the aforementioned teams. Both teams have the capacity to be explosive on offense, but each defense gives up a staggering amount of yards...

Fly Eagles Fly?

Throughout the entire off season, many people did not know what this Philadelphia Eagles team would be, or how they would do win wise. Well, with a win today against the Dallas Cowboys, a division rival, the Eagles could find themselves in first place in the NFC East heading into the mid-way point of this year’s NFL season. The Chip Kelly system has been effective thus far on offense...

Breaking down Chip Kelly's 'genius'

LeSean McCoy likes to call Chip Kelly an offensive “genius.” A stretch? Maybe. Then again maybe not. The Eagles have churned out 2710 yards on offense seventh-most in NFL history after six games. In his first NFL coaching stint of any kind Kelly has produced the first offense in league history to rack up at least 425 yards in each of its first six games. “Look Chip is a...
