Jocks and Stiletto Jill:
For NFL players, having your playbook on an iPad should be a plus. You can study, listen to music and take mental breaks to tweet and look at other stuff online. Except if you play for the Miami Dolphins. New head coach Joe Philbin has brought the Dolphins into the present, ditching physical, bulky playbooks for [...]

Now that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is no longer under the strict watch of the New England Patriots, he looks like he’s back to his old ways.
On Monday, Ochocinco mentioned NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Twitter, telling him that he’ll be a problem this year.
@nflcommish Dad… I love u but I will be a problem this year..all fine money...
You can look at this one or two ways.
It wasn’t like Ochocinco has been a scrub during his NFL career, so he has to have some form of football intelligence because it is hard to succeed on athletic ability alone. Maybe, the Patriots offense just didn’t fit what he was comfortable with, so it never meshed.
The other scenario is that he can only succeed in a Bengals style...
Linebacker Karlos Dansby believes the Miami Dolphins’ defense can be “great” this season, now that they’ve switched from a 3-4 to a 4-3 scheme.
“We’ve got a chance to be great,” said Dansby. “We have a chance to be great in this defense. We have enough skill set. We have enough talent. We can make this defense work for us.”
The Dolphins defense will...
Miami Dolphins players have been issued with new iPads to be used as playbooks for the upcoming season but have been warned that if they wander on to "unauthorized" sites during team meetings they will get hit with a $10,000 fine.
Sites including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter are all off-limits, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
Asked to name his favorite iPad...
Chad Ochocinco, yes thats still his name, tweeted to Roger Goodell, addressing him as "Dad", that he will be a problem this season. The Dolphins can only hope that will be the case because if Goodell does punish Ochocinco it will likely be for end zone celebrations.
@nflcommish Dad... I love u but I will be a problem this year.. all fine...
Let’s commend the Dolphins for taking a step toward the future by giving their players iPads loaded with plays rather having them tote thick binders around.
“I love it,” Reggie Bush said. “It makes it so much simpler, and obviously that’s where technology has taken us nowadays. It’s amazing, and I’m glad we got it.”
But such a luxury comes with a price. And a steep...
The Miami Dolphins are putting their large playbook on iPads for their players to use, but the team will be fining players for unauthorized use of the technology, NFL.com reported.
"It's convenient," wide receiver Devone Bess told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. "Every day we were getting stacks and stacks of papers with the installs. Now they can just download...
During the summer months, NFL news can often slow to a grinding halt. That's part of the reason we carry off-topic pieces/interesting takes on the current situation (such as the "What they might be thinking" series). During these slow times of the NFL calender, one man can almost always be counted on to give us some juicy material to discuss.
Enter Chad Ochocinco, or...
Last season, former Patriots WR Chad Ochocinco saw his statistics fall off drastically. A lot of people speculated that maybe he’s past his prime, while others claimed that the Patriots just had too many weapons as well as a two tight end system that set Ocho up for failure. Now, a new reason for his struggles in New England have come to light. After a season that was largely disappointing...
According to Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe, wide receiver Chad Ochocinco admitted to a source within the Miami Dolphins organization that he failed to grasp the Patriots playbook last season.
“The guy did all but admit that it was a struggle for him mentally, the playbook, all that stuff,’’ the source said, per Bedard. “He didn’t deny that it was a problem...
