I’m right back on the Vick bandwagon after two weeks off. The hope is that his hamstring allows him to be an effective runner, both in terms of the bonus fantasy points that yields but regarding the impact it has on his the offense as a whole. I know that Matthew Stafford has one of the best matchups around this week but if the Cowboys effectively reduce Megatrons impact Im not astounded by the other options. Eli is still floating around fringe starter range, but, after failing to deliver on a dream matchup against the Vikes this past week hes tough to trust. Still, the Eagles give up the 6th most points in the league to opposing QBs. With Forte, Johnson, Richardson, Mathews, Rice and Foster all off on byes the back half of top RB top 24 is much less appealing than usual. This is a week where guys who own two legit number ones have a serious advantage. I’m ahead of the curve on Frank Gore this week but he’s ran well against all opponents and Jacksonville is very beatable. He’ll have lots of carries in the second half and should find a way to score again. Jacksonville has been run on 190 times this year and allowed 8 scores on the ground to RBs. I’m wary of Steven Jackson in his return, but the reality of the depth concerns at the position this week due to bye and injury suggest he’s got to be used if you’ve got him. I like DeSean Jackson more and Riley Cooper a lot less with Vick back under center for the Eagles. Vincent Jackson is the game’s most targeted WR over the past three weeks and I see no reason to expect Glennon to change philosophies this week. If you’re keeping score, there are three Broncos inside the top 15 this week at WR. The difference is that Eric Decker finds himself ahead of Wes Welker and in the top 10. 29 could prove to be far too ambitious on Percy Harvin given uncertainty about his snap count, if he plays at all, but I like Seattle to get him into the game and he’s itching to put on a show. With 17 targets last week and facing a generous TE defense (Miami has allowed a 75% completion rate to go with 6 TDs to the position on the season Rob Gronkowski sits easily on top of the position ranks this week, particularly in light of Graham’s uncertain status. ECR at 14 is simply too high on Joseph Fauria. I understand the argument for his ceiling but Dallas has allowed just 8 redzone targets to TEs this year, right around the league average, and Fauria will need more than the 1.2 that average works out to to ensure success, given that he’s not likely to put up a monster yardage total.
