Mike Vick is very excited to be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and is even more amped to play in Chip Kelly’s offense, that will allow him to use his greatest asset, his legs. For years, it seems like Vick was a square peg trying to be fit into a round hole. Coaches attempted to modify their offenses to work Vick in, but never really running an offense that really used him the best way possible. Vick says he also altered the way he approached his play on Sundays, because of the media scrutiny. “You guys act like I get hurt once a week,” Vick said to reporters, via Philly.com. “You all did that to me. Made me change the way I played the game.” Vick has rushed for more yards than any other QB in history. His 5,551 yards is better than a lot of solid running backs put together for their career. But the way Vick sees it, if the media didn’t get in his head about leaving the pocket too much, he would have a lot more, and it would have led to greater success.
