Found April 11, 2012 on Down and Distance:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported via Twitter today that Pittsburgh Steelers WR Mike Wallace has no intentions of signing the free agent tender placed on him, and also plans on sitting out off-season workouts.

While the report has not been confirmed by the Steelers, Schefter is usually right on the money with his information. The deadline for restricted free agents only nine days away, it is very likely that the Steelers front office will halt negotiations until Wallace signs the tender and reports. He needs one more season under his belt before he can become an unrestricted free agent.

The Steelers are not known to meeting demands of high priced guys, and since no other team is prepared to pay Wallace the outrageous, Larry Fitzgerald type money he wants, it is likely Wallace will report to training camp but miss the off-season activities. This could falter new offensive coordinator Todd Haley’s progress, however as long as Wallace shows up it’s not a huge deal.

Mike Wallace trying to force the Steelers hand, take two…

It seems that the Steelers Mike Wallace is doing everything in his power to force the media and the blogging nation to continue writing about him this offseason. While I would imagine that isn’t his primary intent, it’s an indirect result of the media circus surrounding him and his contract status going forward. Don’t get me wrong, we here at Steeler Addicts will always report...

Fantasy Spin: Wallace wont be able to participate in OTAs if he doesnt sign the tender, and could ultimately end up being a holdout in Training Camp, as he covets a lucrative long-term deal. It is still too early to consider red flagging...

Adam Schefter: Matt Kalil NOT a lock at #3 in the draft

Throughout the weeks leading up to the draft, a few things have been certain: Either Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III would be the first pick in the draft, and whoever was NOT the first pick out of the two would surely go second to the Redskins, and that Matt Kalil would go third to the Minnesota Vikings. Adam Schefter, though, is saying “not so fast” to the seemingly obvious...

NFL magazine dies after just 4 issues

The print news/magazine industry is in poor shape, and it's a dying industry. That's why I, along with nearly everyone else with a computer and an internet connection, was shocked when the NFL introduced its official print magazine late last year, and it comes as no surprise that the magazine is making a quiet exit. The failure of an NFL run venture is in and of itself surprising...
