The Niners might have found themselves to have had yet another successful draft this year. Addressing holes in their roster and drafting young players that will hopefully be able to replace some aging ones. One player in particular has a substantial upside, not to mention he shares a similar start in the NFL as his predecessor, Frank Gore. The player I am referring to is Marcus Lattimore, running back out of South Carolina.   Marcus Lattimore and Frank Gore saw successful but injury plagued collegiate careers. Gore spent three seasons at the University of Miami while red shirting his sophomore year. He competed in a crowded and very talented back field that consisted of Clinton Portis and Willis McGahee. He suffered back to back knee injuries while still compiling 302 carries for 2,060 yards and 18 touchdowns. The Niners drafted him in the 3rd round of the 2005 NFL draft. Marcus Lattimore saw success while attending the University of South Carolina. During his three seasons with the Gamecocks, Lattimore rushed for 2,677 yards and 38 touchdowns along with 74 receptions for 767 yards and 3 touchdowns. All the while playing in only 30 games. He was drafted in the 4th round of this year’s draft.   Frank Gore was said to have reached out to the young Lattimore prior to the draft to give him some perspective from a seasoned vet who had similar experiences. It seems as if the Niners were already planting seeds to obtain Lattimore before the draft. Gore has enough in the tank to continue for at least two more years as the starter, coming off of a Super Bowl season in which he recorded 1,214 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns. While doing so he can also be grooming his replacement, who will most likely see very limited action this upcoming season. Overall, the Niners have a very promising future in the young running back. They just need to give him time to heal from his extensive knee injury, where he tore three ligaments in his right knee. He also tore his MCL and ACL in his left knee the season before. If he can fully recover, they have a talented replacement for the Niners all time rusher.

Giant robots rock: Overvalued players in 2013 fantasy football drafts, starting with 49ers Colin Kaepernick

Sure, I love giant robots fighting giant monsters as much as the next guy. And it seems that “Pacific Rim”, a new movie that essentially contains zero plot points other than “giant robots fighting giant monsters are cool and expensive,” has that in spades.  You have to wonder, though, how the pitch went.  Perhaps it went something like this: ...

Colin Kaeper-woah! 49ers QB Bares All

This Chick is by no means a 49ers fan. Not by any stretch. Kinda hate em in fact. But this Chick is also a red-blooded American woman with eyeballs. And therefore, I can’t help but drool over show my overwhelming appreciation for the latest ESPN Body Issue featuring San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in all his tatted up glory. If that doesn’t warrant a “taunting”...
