Welcome to a new segment: Friday’s Frank Fact or Fiction.
Today, we will look at the triple threat at wide receiver for the New York Giants and determine whether they are the best trio of wide receivers in the NFL.
While the NFL is a quarterback’s game, a quarterback’s game is half determined by their wide receivers. If you need an example of this, take a look at the Giant’s evil cousins, the New York Jets. Yes, I am saying Mark Sanchez is a good quarterback and in my opinion is getting a lot more heat than he deserves. Well…aside from the butt fumble.
Yet, when Sanchez had Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes as the dynamic duo with Dustin Keller and Brad Smith as the sidekicks, Sanchez went to the AFC Championship game…twice.
So that being said, Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, and Rueben Randle are a huge part of the Giants offense, especially this season as they enter with an unknown at the running back position. But are they the best group of receivers in the game.
My answer: Frank Fact
Let me be frank here. Yes, there is Denver with Demariyus Thomas and Eric Decker who combined for 23 TDs, the most touchdowns of any other wide receiver duo. Yes, there is Atlanta with Julio Jones and Roddy White who combined for 2,549 receiving yards, the most of any other wide receiver duo. Yes, with the addition of Percy Harvin, the Seattle Seahawks are studs on offense.
But these teams don’t have a third reliable option at wide receiver like the New York Giants do. If you have read my articles, you will see how much I grandiousely speak of Randle because of the way the coaching staff have communicated their excitement over his improvements during the offseason, especially working closely with Eli Manning. Randle’s talent matches that of a number two or even number one on some teams, so he is basically a steal for the Giants offensively. You add the Pro Bowler Cruz and the first round pick Nicks, who should have a great season if he stays healthy, it’s an unstoppable force.
It is the third reliable option that has made the Giants such a perennial threat on offense. Before Cruz came along, Mario Manningham was the number two option and then became a number three option. It led to Manningham becoming an integral part on the late fourth quarter drive that led to a Super Bowl victory in 2012.
Keep in mind, I am not including tight ends in this discussion. If this were the case, I wouldn’t hesitate to say no to the Giants having the best wide receiver, tight end combination. But when it comes to wide receivers, name me another triple threat in the NFL that is better.
It’s a no contest. The Giants have the best group of wide receivers in the NFL and if Nicks ends up re-signing with the Giants after this season, then this group could be around for several years. Therefore, if they run roughshod over opposing defenses like they should this season, imagine next year and the following year.

When the not guilty verdict was read for George Zimmerman in his murder trial there was one thing that could be counted on to happen next--people would be outraged. Many wasted no time taking to one social media channel or another to voice their opinions.
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz was one of those people. His tweet held a pretty grim prediction for what could...

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning told the New York Post how excited he is that Victor Cruz’s contract extension is finally over.
“It’s going to be nice to not have to answer any more questions about Victor and his contract status with the team,’’ Manning said Tuesday in an email response.
Manning is certainly glad everything was done prior to training camp.
When New York Giants running back David Wilson came into league, he was a raw talent that really didn't know the first thing about blocking.
While he's still has a way to go, offensive coordinator Kevin Golbride like what he's seeing out the young back, who's poised to have a breakout season with Ahmad Bradshaw out fo the picture.
"You see a guy like David...
Say what you will about Peyton and Eli Manning. Call them boring, call them mechanical, call them dopey, call them dull. Call them whatever you want. But the guys know how to sell a product.
The quarterbacks are among the most popular pitchmen in sports, and their commercials, filmed both together and separately, have become some of the most talked-about spots on TV.
Defensive end Adrian Tracey was selected in the sixth round (184th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Giants and played his college football at William & Mary.
In past years it would be a struggle to crack the team’s defensive line rotation, but with the defections of key veterans and current pass rushing demon Jason Pierre Paul recovering from surgery, Tracey faces...
Giants tight end Brandon Myers recently spoke with the Newark Star-Ledger and was asked if he’s disappointed with what is essentially a one year deal he got from the Giants this offseason after having a great year in Oakland last season.
It all worked out for the best. I’m with a great organization, a proven team with a proven quarterback (Eli Manning), in an offense that...
According to ESPN New York, Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said running back David Wilson has shown "significant" improvement from last season, but added that the second-year back "is still not 100 percent" where the team wants him to be.Fantasy Spin:"He still makes mistakes but there has certainly been some significant [growth]," Gilbride...
WIGS AND CHAINS
Every year the NFL preseason brings with it high hopes and — in the case of the Manning brothers — low comedy. And just in time to help make you forget "Hangover Part III." This summer is no different reports TMZ, after Eli and Peyton were spotted in character on a New Orleans film location and the gossip site posted the photographic proof. According toTMZ: He...
TMZ got a hold of the photo above of Eli and Peyton Manning dressed like 2 Chainz for an upcoming DirecTV commercial. It looks like Eli has the red jacket on and Peyton is wearing the white top. If you take quick a look at the New York Giants, there was not a whole lot of difference between the 2011 club that won Super Bowl XLVI and the 2012 version. A 9-7 record, an inconsistent defense and an offensive that struggled to put up points in some games was the recurring theme over the past two years. But when you look beneath the surface, there was a lot more wrong with...
After a gruesome knee injury suffered during OTAs in May, Giants' fullback Henry Hynoski is ahead of his rehab schedule and could make a return to the field as early as Week 1 when New York travels to Dallas for its regular season opener.
While he's not expected to see many snaps playing behind two-time Super Bowl Champion Eli Manning, rookie quarterback Ryan Nassib's situation with the Giants could be a true blessing in disguise for the young signal-caller.
So now that Victor Cruz is locked up with the New York Giants for another six seasons, what else is there to talk about now? Is it training camp yet?
Let’s look a little further and shift our attention to that other dynamic receiver in Hakeem Nicks. What does Cruz’s contract mean for Hakeem Nicks and his future? Does it have any bearing on how Nicks’ camp will leverage themselves...
