New York Giants' receiver Domenik Hixon went through quite the string of bad luck with the injury bug throughout the last couple of seasons. He has torn his ACL twice in the last two years, the second time coming on an acrobatic touchdown reception against the Rams last season. During his rehab he has managed to add about 20 pounds of muscle and is expected to fully recover in time for training camp. Now, after losing Mario Manningham to free agency, Hixon is looking to step in and become the third wide receiver on the roster. Hixon has proven he can be productive in the past both as a return man and a receiver. In the 2008 season, Offensive Coordinator Kevin Gilbride chose him as the replacement for Plaxico Burress after his famous handgun incident. In that season he hauled in 45 receptions for 633 yards, proving to be a reliable target for Eli Manning. When asked if he expects there to be any rust to deal with after missing so much time, Hixon seemed optimist

Retired New York Giants QB Phil Simms: "Super Bowl champs should be the favorites"

A day after the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI, the MGM Grand’s sports book in Las Vegas released the odds for Super Bowl XLVII … and Big Blue wasn't even the favorite to win their own division. Instead, the Patriots topped the odds at 5-1 with the Green Bay Packers (11-2), Pittsburgh Steelers (6-1) and Philadelphia Eagles (6...

2012 Post Draft Winners/Losers: New York Giants

Fans of the other NFC East teams were once again subjected to watching the Giants celebrate a Super Bowl victory. Why do the Giants win? The New York Giants know how to draft. Jerry Reese is a man with a plan. Take for instance the decision to part ways with Brandon Jacobs and the selection of David Wilson. Out goes a high priced headache and in comes a young rusher who, if...

New York Giants' Michael Boley: I'm Still the Outside Linebacker

With a sea of depth at the linebacker position, very little is set in stone for the New York Giants. Earlier in the offseason, General Manager Jerry Reese hinted at the possibility of Michael Boley shifting to middle linebacker, but the team has since acquired Keith Rivers and re-signed Chase Blackburn, whom defensive coordinator Perry Fewell says has an inside track to earn the...

New York Giants' Eli Manning No. 30 on Forbes' Highest-Paid Athletes List

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning spent a few moments on Tuesday morning checking out customers and handing out donuts at the drive-through after a new sponsorship deal with Dunkin' Donuts was announced, but it's not something he'll ever have to worry about doing full time. A day prior to his first shift working for the man, Forbes released their list of the world...

Brandon Jacobs Spends Day with Six-Year-Old Fan Who Sent Him $3.36 to Stay With Giants

Free agency can be a painful time for sports fans, when their team can't afford to pay their favorite player for a new contract. One young fan wasn't about to let his favorite player, Brandon Jacobs, leave his former team without a fight. When six-year-old New York Giants fan Joe Armento heard the team couldn't afford Jacobs, he sent the running back all the money he...

Brandon Jacobs pays back 6-year-old and more

The story that surfaced a few months back regarding Brandon Jacobs and the Six-year-old boy that sent him $3.36 to return to the New York Giants was a memorable one. The boy’s father had to tell his son that Jacobs had to leave the Giants because they didn’t have enough money to keep him on the team, the boy responded by sending him every last penny that he had saved up in his...

Brandon Jacobs refunds 6-year-old’s money

Last month, little New York Giants fan Joseph Armento sorely wanted RB Brandon Jacobs to remain with the team, so he took action, raising the small amount of $3.36 to send to Jacobs, so that the team could afford to keep him with the Giants. Jacobs received the kind donation unfortunately too late, having already signed with the San Francisco 49ers. On Wednesday, Jacobs...

New York Giants vs New England Patriots: Who is America's Team?

ESPN conducted their latest poll of America's Team this past May of 2012. When Football Nation's voters re-examined the results, they reverted back to last February. The Dallas Cowboys, the inspiration for our bracket, were deemed the most popular by 8.8 percent of the country - a title they have respectfully trademarked and skeptically maintained since the 1970s. Jerry...
