The New York Jets (3-2) will host the (0-4) Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday at 1 p.m. on CBS. The Jets are coming off an emotional win in Atlanta on Monday night, where Nick Folk booted a 43-yard game winning field goal as time expired. For the Steelers, the bye week came at a perfect time. Pittsburgh has started (0-4) for the first time under Mike Tomlin and have struggled in all three phases of the game. However, the New York Jets cannot overlook the Steelers this week. A win this week sets up a huge division game against the Patriots next week. The Jets may be without Santonio Holmes again this week The Jets game plan on offense is simple, and should be the same as it was for the Falcons. Run the ball effectively, and DON’T TURN THE BALL OVER. If the Jets don’t create opportunities for the Steelers offense, they should have no problem in this one. The Steelers are 29th in the league on offense, and have the worst rushing attack in the league. The Jets defense has played well and if it can create third and long situations, Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, and Quinton Coples can pin their ears back and get after Ben Roethlisberger. With all signs pointing towards the Jets being the better team, the Steelers are (4-2) off the bye week under Mike Tomlin. The Steelers are in a must win situation, and the Jets can’t be looking toward their match-up with the Patriots before taking care of business this week. I expect another close game for the New York Jets. Other Notes: Santonio Holmes and Kellen Winslow are both questionable this week. Holmes is dealing with a hamstring injury that caused him to miss Monday nights game. Antonio Cromartie hyper-extended his knee in practice yesterday and his status for Sunday is in question. If Cromartie can’t play, the Jets will be without Cromartie and Milliner, leaving Kyle Wilson and Darin Walls as the starting corners. Although the Steelers offense has been terrible, they are ranked 9th in the league in passing. Linebacker Antwan Barnes is out for the season with a knee injury. The Jets resigned David Garrard this week to help mentor rookie quarterback Geno Smith.
