Found June 14, 2013 on PPR Fantasy Football:
It looks like the New York Jets will go 1-for-2 on their high-profile tryouts at minicamp this week. Kellen Winslow Jr. has been impressive and will almost certainly end up signing a contract with the Jets. Mike Sims-Walker hasn’t impressed at the same level, and his status with the team beyond minicamp is much less certain. The New York Jets are thin and inexperienced at tight end, but Kellen Winslow Jr. looks like a serviceable answer to their need for a true starter. Brought in this week for a tryout at the team’s minicamp, Kellen Winslow Jr. impressed on Tuesday and continued to do so today. Given the lack of receiving depth for the Jets, the prevalence of the tight end in today’s NFL and the past production from tight ends under Marty Mornhinweg (Brent Celek), the Jets needed to find a contributor in the passing game at tight end. It looks like Kellen Winslow Jr. will fill that role, along with some help from Jeff Cumberland. Rex Ryan wasn’t quiet about his satisfaction with Ke...

Kellen Winslow Signs One-Year Contract

The veteran tight end, who spent nine days with the Patriots last season, signed a one-year deal with the Jets on Friday after completing a three-day minicamp tryout. Although a gimp, the New York Jets should frequently target Kellen Winslow on intermediate routes

The offensively challenged New York Jets signed tight end Kellen Winslow to a one-year contract on Friday. Catching 438 balls for 4,848 yards and 23 touchdowns since debuting in the NFL in 2004, the 29-year-old Winslow is now a gimpy bastard lacking the ability to spread the field. Regardless, in comparison to Jeff Cumberland and Hayden Smith, the 2007 Pro Bowl selection is akin...

Kellen Winslow provides much needed target for the Jets

The Jets offense was a sad sight a season ago, and if reports out of OTAs are to be believed, that group may become an even more lethargic unit in 2013. That being said, for a change, help is on the way. With the addition of tight end Kellen Winslow, as reported by Mike Florio, the Jets addressed a major position of concern and added a target that could make a quick impact on...

Cumberland has potential and showed some nice things as a part-time starter last year, but the depth and quality of the tight...
