In a game where the New York Jets lost to the Pittsburg Steelers there will be some uncertainty going forward. Honestly, the biggest one for me is the lack of Tim Tebow, why trade for him if you are going to only play him in only three plays. I know; it’s no JV football anymore, and you don’t have to play everyone. However, what Tebow can bring to the field is something Mark Sanchez can’t. When Sanchez is struggling, they need to find a spark somewhere. In the third quarter in yesterday’s loss to the Steelers Tebow’s first snap went for a 22-yard rushing gain. As Tebow got up, he was the same excited guy we all know. He was trying to get his teammates all fired up. He talks about it here; I’m trying to get a little momentum back on our side and provide a little spark,” Tebow said of his run. “I felt like we did that a little bit, but we’ve got to be able to sustain it and not have a negative play.” Tebow was in there for two plays at that time and was replaced by Sanchez, and then they loss yardage and had to throw out of a third and long situation. The key to a successful running attack is making third downs short. When you get sacked, because you hold the ball too long, that doesn’t help out anything. Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow (AP Photo Barry Gutierrez I don’t know if anyone else in the league could handle this situation better than Tebow, he has the best attitude about it. “It’s not frustrating,” Tebow said of his limited role. “Every year is a new opportunity and new challenges, and you try to do the best you can, and I’m trying to do the best I can in this role. … unfortunately we came up a little short.” Who knows how long this will continue for, but one thing is for sure Rex Ryan has to get him on the field more, his passion and his excitement picks everyone up.
