Phillip Rivers and the Chargers- As a Charger fan I’m using this section right here to vent a bit. The Chargers came off a bye week at 4-1 and looked to strengthen their lead in the AFC West with a win at the Jets. After a quick start and a 21-10 lead at half, Phillip Rivers and a banged up offense were unable to hold the lead. They got no help from the defense, which committed 12 penalties. Rivers however, threw two costly picks in the 4th quarter and helped give the Jets the game.  Rivers this season has thrown just 7 TDs to go with a whopping 11 picks. After a bye week a team as talented as the Chargers should not come out so unprepared. Norv Turner continues to give the Chargers reasons to fire him, and if unprepared Charger teams continue to show this season, Norv will be on his way out.

Charlie Whitehurst- In what was the most boring game EVER, the Seahawks starting QB was 12/30 passing for a grand total of 97 yards.  In a season where 400-yard games happen multiple times a week, throwing for 97 yards is remarkable, and oh ya, it came against the Cleveland Browns. Whitehurst was also sacked 5 times and fumbled the ball twice. At 2-4, this team may have too many wins and talent to “Suck for Luck,” but with Pete Carroll coaching, the Seahawks may “Fall Flat for Matt (Barkley).”

Kyle Boller and Carson Palmer- Welcome to the Raiders Carson!! After watching teammate Kyle Boller start the game and throw three picks in the first half, you just had to match him by throwing three yourself. The QBs combined for 15/35 passing for 167 yards and 6 interceptions. Two of those picks were taken in for TDs, and in a game where the Raiders outgained the Chiefs, they still lost 28-0. Luckily for the Raiders, they’re on bye and can get their new QB situation settled.

Chris Johnson- In the latest episode in the Chris Johnson saga, CJ still can’t run for any yards. CJ ran for 18 yards on 10 carries, with a long of just 3 yards. The Titans lost the game 41-7 and blew their short-lived division lead. I know you all remember the couch burnings in Tennessee when Lane Kiffin left, but if CJ continues to struggle on the run, the Titans fans may run him out of town even faster.

The Colts- 62-7 on Sunday Night Football. Dan Orlovsky played. 62-7!!!!!

Joe Flacco- For as long as Flacco has been in the NFL, I have been a big anti-Flacco fan. Since he somehow wins playoff games, I need to take my shots now. He continues to hold back a Ravens team that may be more talented on all sides of the ball than the 2000 Super Bowl winning team that was led by Trent Dilfer. Dilfer was an average QB at best, so what does that make Flacco? The only consistent throw for yardage Flacco makes is the dump-off to Ray Rice. Flacco is horrible at reading blitzes, horrible at throwing under pressure, can’t scramble, and can’t throw the deep ball. The Ravens keep adding offensive talent around his like Anquan Boldin, Ed Dickson, Torrey Smith, Lee Evans, and Vonta Leach, as well as giving him one of the top 5 offensive lines, yet Flacco continues to struggle and Monday nights demonstration against the Jaguars showed his lack of ability when a team shut down the run. Flacco blew a game winning drive when he stared down a receiver and got picked by a linebacker. Sorry Raven fans, your QB is the only thing holding your team back from greatness.
