The Minnesota Vikings are entering the 2024 NFL season as a relatively unknown football team. No one knows what to expect from them and whether or not they will be a potential playoff contender.

One thing that everyone knows is that they are locked into a massive contract situation with superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Throughout the course of the offseason, there have been questions about whether the Vikings could sign their star wideout to a new deal. So far, nothing has gotten done between the two sides.

Now, a massive bombshell report has emerged regarding the contract demands that Jefferson is making.

According to a report from Armando Salguero, a longtime NFL reporter, Jefferson is demanding a new contract from the Vikings that will pay him quarterback money.

“As salaries for some non-quarterback positions rise, one source said Jefferson wants to be paid like some quarterbacks. At one point in the negotiation [with the Vikings], he wanted to reach the $40 million per year mark on an annual average, according to the source. It’s unclear if that is still where the talks are centered. Jefferson also wants to do a deal that includes fully guaranteed money that is at or close to $100 million, another source told OutKick.”

Those are unheard of demands for an NFL wide receiver.

Is Jefferson worth that kind of money? More than likely, the Vikings are trying to work their way down from that number, which is why nothing has gotten done with Jefferson.

According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Jefferson has previously turned down a contract offer from the Vikings that was in excess of $30 million.

Expect to hear more reports and rumors surrounding the Minnesota Vikings and Jefferson. The two sides are still talking, but clearly nothing has gotten done yet.
