Oakland Raiders veteran QB Carson Palmer has been ruled out for the team’s season finale against the San Diego Chargers. Palmer suffered broken ribs and a bruised lung on Sunday in the Raiders loss to the Carolina Panthers. Given a disappointing season and an impending $13 million dollar salary in 2013, you have to wonder if Carson Palmer has played his last game of his career with the Raiders. Palmer finished the season ranked in the middle of the pack of starting quarterbacks, at 16th. He reached the 4,000 yard mark and finished with 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, garnering a 85.3 passer rating. Palmer will turn 33 in two days and is not the serious long term answer for the Oakland Raiders. I would believe that Oakland would hang on to him next season if this was a team right on the verge of making a playoff run, but after a 4-11 season, this is a franchise that needs a lot of help around the field at different positions. Palmer is not a horrible quarterback and would likely ...

Tommy Kelly admits the Raiders tried to injure Cam Newton

With Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer leaving today’s game against the Panthers with an injury, defensive tackle Tommy Kelly felt like they needed to try to injure Panthers quarterback Cam Newton as payback.  This is probably why Newton was seen kicking Kelly during the game. “You take our guy out, we’re going to go and try to take your guy out,” Kelly said after the game...

Raiders QB Carson Palmer Out, Leaving Matt Leinart, Terrelle Pryor to Compete for Start

While everyone talks about how poor the Cardinals’ and Jets’ quarterback situations are, it seems as though due to their 4 p.m. games and location on the west coast, the Raiders have been forgotten. Well, while Carson Palmer‘s stats may not look as bad as Ryan Lindley‘s or Mark Sanchez‘s, trust us, he’s been just as bad. Unfortunately, the options behind Palmer aren...
