One would have to assume that at this point New England Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett is off the trade block. There had been some speculation that the Patriots might be willing to trade Mallett given the new deal that Tom Brady received along with the release of former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel by the Kansas City Chiefs. Cassel signed with the Minnesota Vikings on Friday and he is now off the market. The speculation surrounded the Patriots re-signing Cassel and then moving Mallett for an additional pick next month.
The trade of Mallett might have made sense had the Patriots secured a deal with Cassel. The Patriots, a team that loves to stockpile draft picks, is very thin with the number of selections in next month’s draft. A trade of Mallett would now leave the Patriots with just Mike Kafka on the roster.
Despite not having many draft picks next month, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported overnight that the Patriots have signed Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sande...

After playing 6 games with New England in 2012, the Patriots saw enough in Talib to sign him to a one-year $5 million contract.
Talib, 27, was drafted in 2008 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played four seasons with them before being traded to New England late in the 2012 season. The first time an opposing quarterback threw in his direction, it was a pick six for the Kansas product...

After Wes Welker's departure, the Patriots have made all the right moves, and once again optimism has found it's way into Pats fans everywhere. But is this well founded?

Despite conflicting reports this morning about whether or not the New England Patriots have signed a tender offer with Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, it has been announced that the Patriots have parted ways with veteran receiver Brandon Lloyd. Former Patriots running back Danny Woodhead has signed a two-year deal with the Chargers.Fantasy Spin:Woodhead had 747 yards from scrimmage, seven touchdowns and 40 receptions last season. He'll serve as San Diego's third-down back and could provide decent value in PPR leagues considering Ronnie Brown had 49 catches in that role last season.
The New England Patriots were expected to target a safety and on Friday they got their man agreeing to a deal with Adrian Wilson. Wilson previously played for Arizona.
Wilson, 33, agreed to a three-year deal with the Patriots.
Last season the Cardinals began to bench Wilson during passing situations something that is likely to continue in New England.
Over the past two seasons, the New England Patriots have been one of the worst teams in football when it comes to kick returns. In 2011, they finished 29 in the NFL and 25 last season. To improve on that for the upcoming season, the team signed former New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks RB/KR Leon Washington to one-year deal on Thursday. Washington, who can return punts and kicks...

The Patriots and Amendola agreed to a five year, $31 million deal with $10 guaranteed, supposedly on Wednesday. However...
The New England Patriots re-signed free agent cornerback Aqib Talib to a one-year contract on Saturday. Talib came over midseason in a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he helped solidify the shaky New England secondary.
He is the third defensive back that New England has signed in the free agency period along with re-signing Kyle Arrington and former Arizona Cardinals...

2012 Season Review:
The New England Patriots are considered by most the class of the NFL for the better part of a decade now. Their offense has gotten a huge upgrade by finding a running back in Stevan Ridley. Adding a running game to the passing artistry of Tom Brady and the stable of receivers was quite an amazing feat in 2012. Tom Brady backed up a 5,000 yard passing season in...
