Jets fans want to see some changes this offseason. After two seasons in which New York reached consecutive AFC Championship games, the Jets struggled mightily this year. Mark Sanchez did not take significant strides in his third full year as a starter and the Jets’ offense looked stale. As a result many fans, some anonymous teammates, and at least one former player want a change at quarterback.  One name that has been thrown around quite a bit is Peyton Manning, but who said he was for sale?  Jets center Nick Mangold alluded to that during an interview with The Michael Kay Show on Wednesday. “I think if anybody could get a clean bill of health, shoot, I’ll take Joe Montana if he had a clean bill of health,” Mangold said sarcastically. “Dan Marino, I think, would be another great one. I think it’s all speculation, and I think that Mark Sanchez is my guy. Hes the one I want to go into battle with, and I wouldn’t be too keen to seeing that being changed. “(Sanchez) puts in more work an...

Top 5 NFL Playoff Quarterbacks of All-Time

Clutch… ice in the veins… relentless…  These are phrases often used to describe NFL quarterbacks who perform best under pressure.  Regular season glory is good; just ask Dan Marino.  But if you ever want to truly be considered an elite NFL quarterback you have to perform when it counts the most and that’s in the postseason.  This is a list of guys who got it done in...

Where Could Peyton Manning Land?

I had a fun chat on twitter yesterday with 12th Man Rising contributor Jake Bishop. We were discussing where Peyton Manning might sign if he was cut by the Indianapolis Colts. While the thought of them cutting outright might sound silly, it remains a possibility. Manning is due a $28 million bonus in March, before any trade could take place. It is still uncertain if Manning will...

The Peyton Manning Sweepstakes

With the Indianapolis Colts “winning” the 1st pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, it seems that they are poised to select Andrew Luck as they should.  Luck has been described as the best QB prospect since perhaps their current QB, Peyton Manning.  Peyton, who missed the entire 2011 season with a neck injury, is hoping to successfully recover, as he will be ready to play next year. ...

New Orleans Saints, Let’s Make History

Drew Brees breaking Dan Marino’s single season passing record…awesome. The Saints breaking the record for most offensive yards in a season…sweet. Darren Sproles breaking the all-purpose yardage record…gotta love it! This season has been one for the books for the New Orleans Saints. And while all the accolades thus far are just swell, this fan wants to make a new kind of...

N.F.L. Roundup: Colts Hire Grigson, Eagles Executive, as General Manager

Ryan Grigson moves to a franchise facing big questions, including whether to build around established quarterback Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck, the probable No. draft pick.

Is Peyton Manning Untradeable And Unsignable Now?

At some point before March 8, the Indianapolis Colts will release Peyton Manning to avoid paying him a $28 million roster bonus. That would leave Manning free to go ahead and sign with another team in desperate need of his services (coughJETScough). The problem is that Archie Manning went on the radio the other day and expressed doubts as to whether or not his son will be ready...
