Found September 05, 2013 on Gridiron Grit:
The Oakland Raiders enter the upcoming 2013 NFL regular season virtually in the exact same boat as the New York Jets.  Think about it.  Both teams are starting young and inexperienced (albeit also promising) dual-threat quarterbacks in Geno Smith and Terrelle Pryor over veterans who struggled mightily in the preseason in Mark Sanchez and Matt Flynn, respectively. Both clubs possess a decent offensive line, but face depth concerns and a lack of big-play ability at tight end and wide receiver, along with injury-related problems out of the backfield. General Managers John Idzik and Reggie McKenzie appear to be the right men for the job, but the future for Raiders head coach Dennis Allen and especially Jets HC Rex Ryan is less certain. Rookie CBs Dee Milliner and D.J. Hayden—the first two cornerbacks chosen in the 2013 NFL Draft—also offer plenty of potential and present more stability at the back-end of a couple of defensive units that look to be shredded often this season due in large...

Michel Silver of mentions that there are voices within the Raiders organization who believe undrafted rookie QB Matt McGloin gives them the best chance to win this season. Silver adds that Terrelle Pryor‘s biggest ally within the team is owner Mark Davis, who’s interested in seeing what Pryor can do with the opportunity. With that being said, there’s still ...

The Captain: Marcel Reece Will Have Big Season

The Oakland Raiders lone Pro-Bowl player last year Marcel Reece will thrive under the Terrelle Pryor era of Raiders football. Although Reece did have a Pro Bowl season last year, he was not used enough under the failed Greg Knapp regime. Expect Reece to basically play fullback, running back, and tight end throughout the season for the Raiders. New offensive coordinator Greg Olsen...

Rookie LT Menelik Watson misses second straight practice, Raiders continue shuffling act on offensive line

According to Scott Bair of, rookie Menelik Watson did not practice for a second straight day after tweaking his knee Wednesday. The offensive line woes continues for the Raiders as they head into the regular season and the return of Watson wassupposed...

Darren McFadden: ‘I feel like I owe the Raiders a fantastic season’

It’s safe to say that so far in his career, Darren McFadden has been a bust. He had high expectations coming to the Raiders after a fantastic college career at Arkansas. Last year was pretty much rock bottom when he averaged on 3.3 yards per carry. He says it’s time to live up to the expectations: “The organization has shown tremendous faith in me, and I’m very grateful...

Oakland Raiders gameplan vs Indianapolis Colts

On Offense: 1. One of the Colts’ biggest weaknesses is at outside linebacker where they have a lot of rotational players but not many complete linebackers. Look for the Raiders to take advantage of the deficiencies, here. On one side, Robert Mathis is still transitioning from playing DE in a 4-3 for most of his career. He is a solid pass rusher but isn’t great in coverage...
