Jim Rogash/Getty Images I think it’s safe to say that the New England Patriots are having a below-average season this year. With Tom Brady at the helm, it is a common occurrence to see New England win games by 30-plus points. Right from the get-go however, it was clear that was not going to be the case. Grinding out 13-10 and 24-21 wins against the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets in the first two games of the season, some fans became concerned that this squad did not have the firepower of Patriots teams’ past. As we learned 12 years ago however, explosive offensive play is not always the key to victory. The lack of explosiveness became apparent during the first two games of the 2001 campaign.  New England lost the first two games to the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets by 17-23 and 3-10 scores. The Jets game as we all know started a new era of Patriots football as Tom Brady took over at the helm. Even with that development, keep in mind that the Tom Brady of 2001 was not as deve...

The New England Patriots: The Patriot way’s new core

Nobody lurks in the shadows of the NFL quite like the New England Patriots. Following Wednesday’s entrée of a World Series victory for the Boston Red Sox, what better for dessert than a Patriots blowout victory over the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers? Week after week the Patriots seem to grow a little more. Week after week the Patriots seem to get ignored a little more. But the...

This Tom Brady Family Vacation Pic Looks Like A Movie Poster

Coming soon to a theater near you, The Bye Week: Bradys On Vacation. TerezOwens found this gem from Gisele’s Instagram and we are loving it. Wisely, she neglected to disclose the location. Oh yeah, she added this one too.   Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Brady having best bye week ever

It's official: Even Tom Brady's bye weeks are better than everyone else's. Let's face it: His Halloweens are better too. And most of his Sundays. And his ... uh ... what were we talking about?

Brady doesn't tire of talking about rest

Here’s a thing about Tom Brady maybe you hadn’t noticed. Guy never shuts up about other people sleeping. It’s always, “Make sure you get your rest...” and “It’s important for us to get our rest...” From postgame breakdowns to press conferences, the guy never tires talking about not being tired. Brady has opened a sports performance shop at Patriot Place and, when...

Win a Tom Brady t-shirt, Vote for the Road to MetLife Stadium Patriots MVP so far

As the Patriots begin their quest to MetLife Stadium for the Super Bowl, we've decided to chronicle that journey by highlighting the heroes from each game. The Pats have had an up and down season so far. Thankfully, they ended on a high note with Tom Brady finally looking like Tom Brady against Pittsburgh. With the bye week last week, we thought now would be a good time to not...

New England Patriots: 2013 Week 10 NFL Power Rankings (#4)

Last week: 6 (+2) Record: 7-2 Last week, I criticized Tom Brady’s play with the caveat that I believed he could turn it around, but that I’d need to see it to believe it. Well I saw it last week. Brady’s passes had so much more life on them and his receiving corps stepped up big time. Aaron Dobson appears to have broken out as a legitimate outside receiver, while Danny Amendola...

No surprise: Broncos-Patriots stays in prime time

No surprise: Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are staying on Sunday night. The NFL announced its Week 12 plans Monday. Starting the previous Sunday, the league has the option to switch the prime-time game for a more appealing matchup under its flexible scheduling policy. But the Nov. 24 meeting between Manning's Broncos and Brady's Patriots in New England is as tantalizing as...

Mic’d up: Tom Brady, Bill Belichick talk how tiny Red Sox are

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Josh McDaniels couldn’t quite get over how small the Boston Red Sox players were when the world series champions were honored before the Patriots/Steelers game this past weekend. Keep in mind that nothing compares to the size of Bill Belichick’s ego, Josh McDaniels’ stack of illegal opponent game films, and the erections of every man that looks...

Can Brady Hoke bring Michigan back to elite status?

Should Brady Hoke still get a pass as he tries to undo the damage Rich Rodriguez did to the Michigan program? Or should he be help accountable for the mess we’re still seeing in Ann Arbor? Michigan fans are losing patience, though Big Ten fans are also getting frustrated. Sure, as an Ohio State fan, it’s always fun to watch the Buckeyes stomp Michigan, and that has become a regular...

Patriots vs the Carolina Panthers defense

Photo from SB Nation If we learned anything from the Carolina Panthers win over San Francisco, it's that their defense can play. Their defense held San Francisco to a measly 9 points. While their offense only put up 10, holding San Francisco to 9 points is impressive. And that's cause for concern in Patriots Nation. Tom Brady and his young wide receiver core have finally...
