Patriots OT Nate Solder has been through a lot his rookie season. He’s played right tackle, left tackle, and third tight end, performing admirably in all spots.
But he hasn’t had one NFL experience… until today.
Solder was fined by the NFL $7,500 for a clip against the Eagles, according to an NFL spokesman. Specifically, “on a run play, he struck the opponent from behind and below the waist,” the league said.
Solder’s clip came in the third quarter on a one-yard, third-down run by Danny Woodhead that led to a punt by Zoltan Mesko. The penalty was actually declined, but that didn’t matter for the league office, obviously.
Well, that’s one more NFL experience Solder has collective. Not sure he’s thrilled about it, though.
