Patriots OT Nate Solder has been through a lot his rookie season. He’s played right tackle, left tackle, and third tight end, performing admirably in all spots. But he hasn’t had one NFL experience… until today. Solder was fined by the NFL $7,500 for a clip against the Eagles, according to an NFL spokesman. Specifically, “on a run play, he struck the opponent from behind and below the waist,” the league said. Solder’s clip came in the third quarter on a one-yard, third-down run by Danny Woodhead that led to a punt by Zoltan Mesko. The penalty was actually declined, but that didn’t matter for the league office, obviously. Well, that’s one more NFL experience Solder has collective. Not sure he’s thrilled about it, though.

Marcus Cannon Ready for Possibility of More Playing Time in Light of Sebastian Vollmer's Injury

FOXBORO, Mass. — It’s beginning to look like Patriots tackle Sebastian Vollmer will miss some time with an injury, and if that’s indeed the case, rookie Marcus Cannon is ready to take on an increased role if necessary. Vollmer was replaced at right tackle by rookie Nate Solder in the second half of Sunday’s victory against the Eagles. The Patriots originally announced it...

Wes Welker on the Colts plight: “It’s the easiest time for teams to evaluate talent”

Wes Welker was on the 2004 Dolphins, a woeful team that finished 4-12. All of that was in his first year in the NFL and the All-Pro is far removed from back then. He’s gone 16-0, he’s gone 14-2 and his team now is 8-3. Still, Welker can look back at being on that losing team. He remember the feeling. That’s why he understands what the Colts are going through. And he sees it...

Devin McCourty Hoping to Return to Field Sunday Against Colts

FOXBORO, Mass. -- It's been seven years since Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty has missed a game due to injury, so he's been itching to get back onto the field. McCourty has missed two games with a shoulder injury that he suffered during a collision with safety Sterling Moore against the Jets, and he wouldn't commit to a timetable for a return. However, he spoke to...

Holy Hoodie, it looks like my Patriots Padawan has met his match. But as evidenced below I still think my boy’s got the better swag. I mean a Vrabel jersey and a helmet? No contest.

Patriots try not to let penalties interfere

Bill Belichick’s hallmark as a coach is his attention to detail, and not surprisingly, flying yellow flags do not escape his scrutiny. Traditionally, the Patriots are among the least-penalized teams in the NFL.

Tebow the Terribl……y Lucky

By Dan Zeigarnik, Patriots Daily Staff Considering that the mighty Curtis Painter has just been benched in favor of  UConn’s very own Dan Orlovsky, and that Vegas has taken the already ridiculous 21 point line off the board and is no longer taking bets on the game, I will take a stab at the national conversation. Now, don’t get me wrong there is always trap games and the Pats...
