Patriots safety Patrick Chung is listed on the team’s injury report as “doubtful,” which means there isn’t much of a chance he’ll play on Sunday against the Broncos. But there is an even better way to know that he won’t play. According to eyes on the scene during the Celtics scrimmage (including WEEI.com), Chung is in the front row watching. The team left for Denver this afternoon, and it’s obvious Chung wasn’t on the flight. So, he’s out against the Broncos. Chung injured his foot against the Giants, and has missed the last five games, while a bunch of players have filled in for him — Sterling Moore, Matthew Slater, Julian Edelman, etc. Now, he’ll miss his sixth. The team has an empty roster spot, and it makes sense they’ll promote a safety to fill the void. It’s either Ross Ventrone or Moore, and perhaps Ventrone gives them more on special teams. Tune in tomorrow for more exciting surrounding the 53rd spot.
