These are the type of visits worth keeping an eye on as the Patriots love to grab value from college players with a few red marks on their collegiate record. Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Deaderick, and Alfonzo Dennard are a few names the Patriots have plucked in the later rounds that have paid huge dividends. According to Micheal David Smith of Profootballtalk.com, Bill Belichick will leave no stone (no pun intended) unturned by having LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu in for an April 5th visit. Mathieu arguably the most talented cornerback in the NFL draft, has had his share of issues, but if he proves he has the under control, he could be a target. Smith writes: ‘Mathieu is one of the most intriguing prospects in this year’s draft. As a true sophomore in 2011, he was a Heisman Trophy finalist who was widely regarded as one of the best defensive players (and one of the best special team’s players) in college football. But there were also questions about his size and his ability to match up with top-flight wide receivers in man coverage — and even bigger questions were raised when Mathieu got kicked off the team at LSU, apparently for repeatedly using marijuana.’ var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
