Coach Pete Carroll has had a few off the field issues to deal with, performance enhancing drugs, the comings and goings of Marshawn Lynch, and former backup QB Josh Portis arrested for DUI. However, Carroll has kept his team's focus on the task at hand, installing their sytems, acclimating rookies, and finding out who can do what and get them into effective roles. "We’ve installed enough offensively and defensively, team-wise, that we can kind of work on the things we’re counting on," Carroll said, via Dave Boling of The News-Tribune. "We won’t experiment (in minicamp) at all. We’ll really be digging into the things that we think are really the basic aspects of the program. We’ve uncovered some things that we like in these 10 days, so we’ll look to … get an image of what it’s going to look like when we come back to camp." "We’ve had tremendous opportunities to see our guys come back and get after it with the right attitude and the right kind of tempo that we’re familiar with, and also see the young guys fit in," Carroll said. "… So we’ve made a ton of progress."

Richard Sherman is great but reminds me too much of Antoine Dodson

Richard Sherman is great but reminds me too much of Antoine Dodson  While I am not taking anything away from Seattle Seahawks shutdown corner Richard Sherman’s play, his mouth has really set him up for a huge season.  It is make or break for him this year, because of all the trash he has talked.  I think he is a very good player and I defend him quite a bit, but lately it is...

Russell Wilson had zip on first pitch

Tweet   Thanks to a rookie season where he completed 64% of his passes for 3,118 yards and 26 touchdowns Russell Wilson has quickly become one of the more popular names around the Seattle, Washington area. The third round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft helped the Seahawks secure a playoff birth with an 11-5 [...]

Seahawks’ Walter Thurmond very impressive this spring

According to The Seattle Times, Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond has been very impressive so far this spring now that he’s healthy again. Another breakout player of the OTAs has been cornerback Walter Thurmond, healthy for the first time in roughly two years. “Walter is physically capable of showing off, really,” Carroll said. “He is a tremendous athlete. He has been...

Golden Tate will still be a big part of the Seahawks offense

Golden Tate started to make a name for himself in the latter half of the 2012 season. Tate led all Seahawks receivers in yards and touchdowns in the second half of the season. Tate was selected in the second round of the 2010 draft, he only has one year remaining of his rookie contract. The 2013 season is obviously a pretty big one for the 4th year receiver. Tate has expressed...

Seahawks give rookie Christine Michael some first-team snaps

According to the Seattle Times, the Seahawks gave rookie running back Christine Michael some first-team snaps during last week’s workouts. Christine Michael got a lot of work with the ones and had another solid day, showing off his pass-catching skills throughout. He also shows a good ability to quickly turn and get upfield after making the catch. With Marshawn Lynch only getting...

Seattle Seahawks 2013: Things We Learned From OTAs

The Seattle Seahawks are a team that has a lot to live up to after the 11-5 record and playoff performance they had last season. Not only are the Seahawks trying to get back to the playoffs this season, they will be trying to improve on their 3-3 NFC West record from a season ago.Things did not start off well for coach Pete Carroll and his young team to open camp when they saw defensive...

Russell Wilson throws a 98 MPH first pitch at a Mariners game (Video)

According to Los That Sports Blog, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw out the first pitch at Friday night’s Mariners game.  What’s really crazy is that it was clocked at 98 MPH.  It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise since he’s a former baseball player.   Need NFL Tickets? The post Russell Wilson throws a 98 MPH first pitch at a Mariners game (Video) appeared...

Seahawks GM defends his team on PED issues: '“It’s just not what people think'

A whopping six violations for PED use in 3 years for one team is just one too many, but try telling that to Seahawks GM John Schneider. Sure, one suspension was reversed on appeal (or a technicality we should say), but it certainly doesn't diminish what has apparently ran rampant in Seattle. Schneider takes exception to those fans and media members who are calling it a big...

Seattle Seahawks Potential Breakout Player of 2013: Michael Bennett

The great thing about the NFL is that there are so many positions that every year, there is almost always at least one player who has a breakout year on every team, no matter how good or bad the team is. This is one part in a 32 part segment detailing one potential breakout player (rookies don’t count) for the 2013 NFL season on each NFL team. For the Seattle Seahawks, that player...

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll wants Golden Tate to shine in the ‘Rain City’ this autumn

Raving about the young wide receiver, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is determined to call more plays designed for Golden Tate in 2013. Taken out of Notre Dame with the 60th pick in the 2010 draft, the 24-year-old Tate has caught 101 balls for 1,297 yards and 10 touchdowns in 42 games as a Seahawk. “Golden is really ready to be a terrific football player,” said Carroll...

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson Throws Some Serious Heat

When it comes to celebrities and athletes from other sports throwing out the ceremonial first pitch for a game there is usually just one hope--that they get it over the plate. Speed doesn't matter. Key thing is typically not letting the ball bounce before it gets to the plate. Russell Wilson no trouble getting it over the plate. In fact, if you believe what the stadium...

Russell Wilson’s First Pitch Clocked at 98 mph, According to Safeco Field Scoreboard (Video)

Obviously Russell Wilson has a live arm out on the gridiron, but according to Safeco Field’s (possibly faulty) radar gun, the Seahawks quarterback throws fire from the mound, as well. Wilson threw out the first pitch at the Mariners game on Friday night. After the strike went across the plate, Safeco Field’s scoreboard flashed that the pitch went 98 mph. Now, no offense to Wilson...

Terrell Owens: Finally reality hits and contimplates retirement

Free agent and veteran wide receiver Terrell Owens has finally smelled the coffee. It’s time to hang up the cleats and move on the the next chapter in his life. During an interview with CBSSports, Owens acknowledged that he will retire if he is unsigned for the 2013 season, “If I don’t play this year, I’m retiring.” That’s not really a bold statement for someone that...
