Philadelphia Eagles Projected To Have Massive Breakout Player In 2024
Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports

Looking ahead to the 2024 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to get back to the top of the NFC. Just two short years ago, they represented the conference in the Super Bowl. While they came up short in that game, many expected that they would have a good shot to return to the big game in 2023.

Unfortunately for the Eagles, the 2023 season did not go as planned. While they started off the year looking like a legitimate contender, they fell apart in the second half of the year. Everything came to an end in the Wild Card round of the playoffs when Philadelphia was knocked out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Howie Roseman has made it clear that another season like 2023 will not be allowed if he can help it. He has been aggressive this offseason, making moves to improve the roster and coaching staff.

One of those moves was the Philadelphia Eagles signing free agent pass-rusher Bryce Huff to a three-year, $51 million contract.

Philadelphia Eagles Projected To Have Massive Breakout Player In 2024

Bleacher Report has predicted that Huff will end up having a major breakout season for the Eagles in 2024. Here is what they had to say about Philadelphia’s new pass-rusher.

“If he can come anywhere near his per-snap productivity from a year ago in a larger role in his new home, 13-15 sacks are a real possibility. And if Huff wreaks that kind of havoc in 2024, the Eagles may well reclaim the NFC East.”

At 26 years of age, the addition of Huff was one of the most underrated of the offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles believe that they got a potential star pass-rusher with the move.

During the 2023 season with the New York Jets, Huff ended up recording 29 total tackles to go along with 10 sacks and a defended pass. There is still much room for him to develop and improve as well. Roseman and company very well may have added one of the NFL’s best pass-rushers for the 2024 season and beyond.

Granted, Huff will need to prove that he can consistently be that guy with more attention on him moving forward. The Philadelphia Eagles have an impressive defensive front anyway, but moving on from Haason Reddick has opened the door for Huff to have a much bigger role.

It will be interesting to see if he can take his game to the next level. If he can, he’ll be a huge part of deciding whether or not the Eagles can get back to being legitimate Super Bowl threats.
