Any given Sunday…. but this Sunday proved a predictable loss for the San Diego Chargers against the undefeated Green Bay Packers with the unflappable Aaron Rodgers at the helm. Despite a respectable rally; San Diego still could not close the deal and the struggling Philip Rivers threw his 3rd interception; clinching the win for Green Bay. What is behind this slump that Rivers is in? Essentially, his stats are good everywhere but in the Red Zone; which is where they really count and his turnovers are off the charts. He’s not injured; he has a great arsenal behind him and defense and special teams were on their game today. The Chargers had a fighting chance and if it wasn’t for Philip’s two Pick Sixes; they might even have won that game. In short; the loss today can, without question, be placed at Rivers’ feet. Having already loss their divisional lead; they remain in a three-way tie with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders. That will change on Thursday night, where, after a short week, they have to face up against the Raiders; and at the end of that showdown, one or the other will be the new divisional leader. [...]
