The Pittsburgh Steelers organization is one of the most respected, stable and successful teams in the NFL historically. The fans in Pittsburgh are used to the good life and having winning seasons that bring Vince Lombardi trophies back home to Steeler Nation. Some may say that the Steelers fan is downright spoiled. I would say that they are creatures of habit. These fans in Pittsburgh are used to winning and anything less than that is just unacceptable. You have a great two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger who is in the prime of his career and is dedicated to winning at all cost. With Roethlisberger’s injury this past season he did his best to come back as stronger than possible, but he just wasn’t the same. The Pittsburgh Steelers were losing many of their games last season by only three points. As you can see they weren’t getting blown out or anything. They just were missing that turn around play that could have changed the outcome of the game. I still think with a disappointing season they are still a very dangerous team that can win another Super Bowl in the near future. So I would tell critics and fans to not panic and count this team out. Coach Mike Tomlin is a great young coach in this league that has a lot of promise even with having an average season in 2012 with his team going 8-8. Don’t even think for a minute that the fans didn’t let him have it because they did. They were calling for his job, which wasn’t even fair. Not only that they want to get rid of players such as, get ready -- Mike Wallace, Larry Foote, Troy Polamalu, LaMarr Woodley, James Harrison, Rashard Mendenhall, Max Starks, Willie Colon and many others.Mike Tomlin is a coach that has gone against the odds and won his first Super Bowl in 2009 and went right back to the championship game in 2011 but lost. Many thought that he was ahead of his time and couldn’t achieve such great results in such an early coaching career but anything is possible when you have great integrity, hard work and especially Pro Bowl quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.Coach Tomlin didn’t even have much tenure and was so successful. So how is it now that going 8-8 in 2012 makes him not good anymore? I just don’t understand that part. Fans just need to give him time and know that he’s the coach of the future for this team. Being 8-8 wasn’t so bad after all because they will have the 17th overall pick in the first round in this year’s 2013 NFL Draft. Not so bad for a team that is usually winning over 10-plus games a season and getting a late draft pick. Now they can focus on drafting a running back because with Rashard Mendenhall being an UFA we just don’t know what’s going to happen this offseason. Do you think that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be a dangerous and successful team for the 2013 season?
