Fantasy football owners added a little insult to Ray Rice’s injury yesterday. Rice sustained a strained left hip flexor injury yesterday in the fourth quarter. The game was a very sloppy and slow moving affair to begin with. The Ravens did end up beating the Cleveland Browns 14-6. Yet the team lost their star running back. To make matters worse fantasy football owners went on Twitter and basically started yelling at Rice for getting injured. That’s right. Owners were screaming at Ray for getting hurt. Rice only gained 36 yards before he the game. Oh he fumbled too, which made fantasy owners even angrier. After seeing all the negativity on Twitter Rice reacted to those tweets by writing, “I was a fan of fantasy football until today so many spiteful and hateful words I still love you all God Bless great win today #Ravens” That was his response from people on Twitter saying the following: “Going to probably lose fantasy football this week because of my first pick. Awesome. Why @RayRice27 why.” “S/O to @RayRice27 for that solid 1 point. Really helped out my fantasy team today.” “Ray rice blew my fantasy football team this week #0-2” Two things here. One fantasy owners chill. I get it. I am frustrated sometimes. I have Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy on my team. He got me one point. Do you see me yelling at Lacy? No! It is just fantasy. Yes you can be mad at the guy, but in my case Eddie Lacy got rocked by Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather. Lacy has a concussion. That is EXTREMELY serious. Me losing one week in fantasy football not so much. Priorities people! The second thing is that Ray Rice should have not responded to those idiots on Twitter. Just focus on the positive to get yourself back out on the field. For the Ravens, the fans, and yes fantasy football owners there is some good news. Rice walked off the field under his own power and he wasn’t on crutches after the game. “We’re confident and optimistic right now,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “We’ll have to see how he responds.” Bernard Pierce will now take on the role of the main running back. Waiver wires will go nuts trying to pick him up this week on fantasy teams. Pierce ran for 57 rushing yards and had one rushing touchdown. After the game Bernard spoke with the media. “It was a long fourth quarter, and somebody had to grind out those runs,” Pierce said. “I’ve just got to keep playing to the best of my ability and keep making plays. As long as they keep giving me the ball, I’ll keep carrying it. When you’re trying to run the clock down, they know you’re running. They have to stop you, and we can’t let that happen.” “The running game will keep rolling,” fullback Vonta Leach said. “Bernard did a good job for us and we’ve got confidence in Bernard just like we do with Ray. Hopefully, it’s not that bad. I think we’ll be all right.” Former Giants and Cowboys star, Chris Canty got hurt in the game as well.  “I don’t think it’s a big deal,” Canty said. “It’s just kind of a situation I got banged up and it was smarter not to go back in.”
