Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has decided not to name the starting running back until the season opens up against the Saints.

At a press conference on Saturday, Shanahan said he has chosen a starter but will keep it a secret.

Lets see how each of the Redskins three running backs performed in each preseason game.

2012 sixth-round pick Alfred Morris 

Game 1: 15 carries for 54 yards rushing.

Game 2: 10 carries for 34 yards rushing.

Game 3: 14 carries for 107 yards rushing and one touchdown.  1 reception for 6 yards.

Game 4: DNP

2011 fourth-round pick Roy Helu

Game 1: 4 carries for 17 yards rushing. 1 reception for -3 yards receiving.

Game 2: DNP 

Game 3: DNP

Game 4: 15 carries for 90 yards rushing and two touchdowns.  2 receptions for 34 yards.

2011 sixth-round pick Evan Royster 

Game 1: 7 carries for 21 yards rushing.

Game 2: 2 carries for 20 yards rushing.

Game 3: DNP

Game 4: 10 carries for 44 yards rushing and one touchdown.  2 receptions for 15 yards.
