There was a serious focus on referees after the game, as several questionable flags drew the ire of the players. In the Patriots 34-27 win over the Redskins, the shouting surrounded DE Andre Carter’s roughing call, a flag on Vince Wilfork for unnecessary roughness, a call on London Fletcher for roughing, and an offensive pass-interference penalty on WR Santana Moss. Carter took it to heart, frustrated at being penalized for his low hit to Redskins QB Rex Grossman. He didn’t agree, but did conclude, “That was my fault and I will try better to not put our defense in that situation.” Let’s just say, Moss was not so kind. He unloaded on the refs for his penalty that negated a possible tying touchdown. Un. Loaded.  Want a sample?
