Phil Simms and Jim Nantz both pointed out last night about how referees in the Balitmore Ravens-Denver Broncos playoff game allowed Ravens kicker Justin Tucker to take a practice kick on the field during the break in between the first and second overtime sessions Saturday night.Players, from both Ravens and Broncos, waited for the game to resume after the first 15 minutes of the first overtime session had ended. Tucker was seen on the field and (at least one time) took a warm-up kick. In Sports Authority Field at Mile High, most Broncos fans protested the warm-up kick. Broncos player Champ Bailey, was seen questioning the fairness of the warm-up kick. When the second session resumed, Tucker made the game-winning field goal. It's being reported that although the actions of Tucker (during warm up kicks during an actual game) doesn't come with offense penalty, it's also not allowed by the NFL.Basically, Tucker won't get in trouble for kicking the practice field, but in reality he should have NEVER made the warm-up kick in the first place.Your browser does not support iframes.

Phil Simms struggles with basic addition and subtraction

Brian Billick wasn't the only NFL analyst to have a brief brain malfunction at the end of a playoff game this weekend.  Not to be outdone, CBS's Phil Simms advised the Houston Texans to kick a long field goal trailing 41-28 against the New England Patriots with 20 seconds left in the game... a field goal that would leave the Texans still down by 2 scores.  Jim Nantz has...

We here at Outside the Boxscore love fan celebration videos and this clip of Ravens fans taking to the streets after their victory over the Denver Broncos is pretty good. The video was taken in the Federal Way suburb of Baltimore and check out the shear number of people celebrating the win:

Tucker kicks game-winning 47-yard field goal in double overtime

What a game. With possession of the ball at the end of the first overtime and a first down, the Ravens needed just 10 yards to get in field goal range. That’s when Justin Tucker hit a 47-yard field goal to win the game 38-35. The Ravens will wait to see who their opponent is in the AFC Championship Game that takes place next Sunday.

Ravens’ Win Over Broncos as Real as It Gets

As Justin Tucker’s kick sailed through the uprights, Ray Lewis stood nervously watching on the sideline, biting his lip and fidgeting — wondering on whether it was the last time he’d be running onto the field in the National Football League. That’s hard to believe. Because in this particular game the Baltimore Ravens clearly won in the confines of a hostile territory. The...

Ravens K took questionable practice field goal

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker did something frowned up on by the NFL when he took a practice field goal on the field.

Phil Simms Says It Will Be Hard For Tim Tebow To Ever Be An NFL Starter

Tim Tebow is sitting in quarterback purgatory right now, not sure about his future, and unsure where he’ll end up.  Many pundits wonder where Tebow will end up, and some wonder if he can ever be productive. You can now add former Giants quarterback and CBS commentator Phil Simms to the list of those who are not sure if has what it takes. Simms told David Letterman that “it...

Phil Simms: It will be hard for Tim Tebow to ever be an NFL starter

Things may have gone horribly for Tim Tebow during his time with the New York Jets thus far, but he is still a competitor. Tebow is only 25 years old and led the Denver Broncos to a postseason berth and a first-round playoff win last year. Make no mistake about it — he still wants to start. After being given basically zero chance to prove himself in New York this past season, Tebow...

DENVER -- In a game filled with dramatic swings, Justin Tucker delivered the finishing touch and Joe Flacco used his arm to find an answer to every challenge. Peyton Manning throws OT pick, dooms Broncos

It was supposed to be an easy day for the Denver Broncos by all accounts, but the Baltimore went toe to toe, tit for tat with them throughout, and in the first overtime period, Peyton Manning rolled out in Brett Favre like fashion and threw the interception that eventually set up Justin Tucker's 47-yard game winning field goal in double OT. Ray Lewis lives to see another...

(Eds: With AP Photos.) He practiced making a field goal. And for one of the few times on a frigid afternoon-turned-evening in Denver, something turned...
