San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Brown was ready to have a prominent role last season until it was cut short when he had his ankle broken in the first game of the preseason causing him to miss the entire year. Even though there is a different front office, it looks like Brown will step into the role he was ready to take last season. According to the UT San Diego’s Michael Gehlken, Brown has been rotating with Malcom Floyd in practice. While Gehlken cautioned people not to read too much into what happens in OTAs, it still says something about Brown’s ability. Here is new head coach Mike McCoy talking about that skill and determination. “He’s been great,” McCoy said. “We laid out a plan for him early on, and he’s one of those kids who want to go full speed, 100 miles per hour every play. So we were holding back a little bit when we first got on the field, and it’s just a process we’re going through to make sure we’re doing the right thing with him. But he’s on board 100 percen...

Max Starks is already an upgrade over Jared Gaither for the Chargers

To say the Chargers had a tough year with former left tackle Jared Gaither would be an understatement. Disregarding that low bar, it appears that the San Diego media have already noticed the huge upgrade in Starks over Gaither and we aren’t even talking about skills here. A blog on the Mighty 1090 written by Scott Bair details in what way Starks has been an improvement. According...

Butler is one of the young budding stars on the Chargers defense.  He’s...

Chargers LB Donald Butler Next In Line For A Contract Extension?

Michael Gehlken of the Urban-Tribune San Diego writes that with the recent salary cap relief that Chargers received, LB Donald Butler could be “at the forefront of the Chargers’ focus” for a contract extension. Butler, 24, graded out as the No. 16 inside linebacker according to Pro Football Focus, and with the recent addition of LB Manti Te’o in the draft it would make sense...

Starks takes nothing for granted with Chargers

Max Starks won two Super Bowl rings with the Pittsburgh Steelers and played every snap at left tackle last season in his comeback from blowing out his right knee. Now with the San Diego Chargers, he's considered a big upgrade over another offseason acquisition, King Dunlap. Still, Starks isn't taking anything for granted with the Chargers. He says he's doesn't want...

Dogs are known for marking their territory by peeing on the ground, but should a rugby player do the same? New Zealand Warrior prop forward Russell Parker was playing the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Monday when he urinated in the first half.
