PLAYERS: Josh Gordon
TEAMS: Cleveland Browns
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com,  a source has told him that it’s “possible” that Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will be traded, but not “probable.” A league source with knowledge of the dynamics of any deal tells PFT that a trade is “possible” but not “probable.” Perhaps the better term would be “complicated.”  Apart from Gordon’s actual or perceived football skills, he was suspended for the first two games of the 2013 season, along with a two-game fine.  As we understand it, the two-and-two punishment resulted from negotiations between the NFL and the NFLPA.  While Gordon has said he realizes he’s on his “last chance opportunity,” it’s not known with certainty whether his next violation of the substance-abuse policy would trigger banishment with the ability to apply for reinstatement after one year. Florio brings up a great point.  As talented as Gordon is,  no team is going to want to give up a high draft pick for a player that could end up being suspended for a year with all of his off the field problems.   Need NFL Tickets? Browns’ Josh Gordon still subject of trade talks

Mike Wilkening of NBCSports reports Cleveland Browns wide receiver, Josh Gordon, is still the subject of trade talks.  As I wrote last week, if the Browns keep sucking and quarterback Brandon Weeden keeps playing like a third-string Pop Warner QB, Gordon would be the easiest to move. Wilkening reports that the Browns “have standing offers of a high pick and a player” for Gordon...

Schefter adds that third team remains “interested.” The two reportedly have “standing offers of a high pick and a player” for Gordon, but Browns are “balking.” Last we heard regarding Gordon possibly being traded, Browns’ CEO Joe Banner mentioned...

If Jason Campbell isn't better than Brandon Weeden, the Browns have to find someone else

Brandon Weeden has shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that he cannot be an effective starting quarterback in the NFL. I was among the minority who thought he might improve significantly this season under Norv Turner and Rob Chudzinski's vertical offense. It seemed like it would play into his skill set much better than Pat Shurmur's dink and dunk "West Coast" passing...
