According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter,  Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is expected to sign a new contract some time this summer. Now that Joe Flacco, Tony Romo, Mathew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers have received new contracts, it’s Ryan’s turn. It will be interesting to see how much money the Falcons end up giving Ryan since he hasn’t led them to a championship.  Both Flacco and Rodgers are the highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL, but both have a Super Bowl rings. The Atlanta Falcons were one of the most explosive teams in the National Football League in 2012, getting off to an undefeated 8-0 start and ultimately finishing with an NFC best 13-3 earning home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.  But as far as Falcons fans were concerned, that's where the questions really began.  They knew already that Matt Ryan was an outstanding...

Falcons News and Links for July 12th

The off-season is still upon us and we've been quite here at Grits Blitz as we gear up for training camp and the pre-season. Some of us have been getting married (I will let you guess who), some have been working (actually that's a lot of us), some of us will be going on vacation (that's me) and others just spend a ton of time on twitter (that's Zach and Eric). Atlanta Falcons Fantasy Football Team Preview

At the QB position, the Falcons have a franchise Quarterback in our 6th ranked Matt Ryan. He is a perennial lock for 4,500 yards and 30 touchdowns and can take another big step forward to the tune of 5,000 yards and 35 TD. He is a great option at the back of the fourth round and doesn't have the risk of injury carried by Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, or Cam Newton. Also,...

Scott E. Entsminger of Mansfield died on the 4th of July at the age of 55 and I’m guessing had pretty explicit instructions for his obituary. Regardless, I think we might all agree that it takes a special guy to add levity to his own death after passing. Here’s...
