Found October 14, 2012 on Pro Football Zone:

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, league sources have told him that if quarterback Michael Vick doesn’t lead the Eagles to the playoff this season, he likely won’t be playing in Philly next season.
“If Vick is on the Eagles roster Feb. 6, 2013, three days after this season’s Super Bowl, $3 million of his nearly $16 million salary becomes fully guaranteed. But if the Eagles opt to release Vick before Feb. 6, 2013, they will not have any financial obligation to him and his contract will come off their salary cap without any charge,” wrote Schefter.
It sounds like the Eagles are confident enough in rookie quarterback Nick Foles to take over the reigns next season.
I wonder if Eagles head coach Andy Reid would also be let go if they don’t make the playoffs this season.

  • Well they better get ready to start excercising.
  • C'mon, you know what it is! It's not how you start, it's how you finish. Bottom line, Vick has led the Eagles to leads that any other team can hold to finish and win a game. The defense is not doing their job period! No sacks, tip balls, knock downs, etc. The opposing QB has all day to throw the ball. How could Don Juan and the defense continue to fall for the Lions play action? And the Oh-no Line is straight horrible! Vick is getting beat like a new set of drums and still hanging in there to try to make things happen. Get him some help Andy! Where's Jamal Jackson? You can put any QB behind this Oh-No! Line and they would get slaughtered. If you think Nick Foles is the answer, ask him. He's scared to death to play the way Andy and staff is calling these games. But, like in the past. Blame the QB, and Andy will get off again. He will call simplistic plays for the new QB and make himself look good until the opposing teams expose the new QB. Andy needs to understand how and when to use VIck, as a X-factor more than the main option. Andy gets out-coached every game! Vick keeps on saving Andys job. If Vick was a non-team player, he would have laid down long ago to expose what Andy and Don Juan are all about. Wait till Andy leaves on his own, because that little guy (Lurie) does not have the courage to fire him. Then you'll see and ask youselves, What the hell took them so long to get rid of a coach that has no plan B when the Eagles need it? They should have brought in Mike Singletary to coach the defence!

Philadelphia Eagles and Andy Reid heading toward ugly divorce

The Philadelphia Eagles have come back down to earth in a hard way. They started off so well at 3-1 looking to be the team with dreams of playoff games and a NFC East Title. Could Vick be gone if Eagles miss playoffs?

Michael Vick is the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles right now. Barring some unforeseen injury Vick should remain that way for the rest of the season. Head coach Andy Reid is feeling the hot seat. Both Vick and Reid need an Eagles appearance in the playoffs. While Reid could simply take Vick out of the lineup he knows that his job is tied to the talented but inconsistent Vick...

Lions keep season alive with a thrilling overtime win

I would like to take this opportunity to nominate the Lions for the award of most entertaining team to watch. With them, there's never a dull moment. The Lions trailed the Eagles 13 to 23 with about five minutes left to play, but in classic fashion, they never gave up, and their late game efforts culminated with a Jason Hanson game winning field goal on the Lions' first...
