Found July 30, 2013 on NFL Trade Rumors:
Ian Rapoport reports that free agent LB Nick Barnett is set to visit the Washington Redskins. Rapoport adds that Barnett has spent the past few months getting healthy.  Barnett, 32, has not found any interest on the open market, so it seems unlikely that the Redskins would guarantee him a roster spot if he was in fact signed to a contract. Last year, Pro Football Focus graded Barnett as the No. 9 best 4-3 outside linebacker. According to their ratings, Barnett was very solid against the run, but clearly struggled to provide any pass rush. Washington currently has London Fletcher as their starting inside linebacker, but there are some obvious concerns with him being that he’s 38-years-old and has plenty of mileage. Behind him, the Redskins have Perry Riley and Brian Kehl. We have Barnett listed as the No. 12 player in our Best Available Free Agents list.   The post Report: Nick Barnett To Meet With The Redskins appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Shanahan: 'I don’t even have an email'

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan insists he's drastically behind the times, claiming he has never "been on Twitter" and adding, "I don’t even have e-mail."

Who Will Replace Adam Carriker for the Redskins?

Carriker will likely be placed on IR for the 2nd straight year The horrible news came out a few days ago that Washington Redskins left defensive end Adam Carriker will miss 4 or 5 months with a third surgery within 10 months on his bothersome right quadriceps that he tore week two last year versus the St Louis Rams. I have to think that this will mean Carriker will be put on injured...

6 reasons to get excited for the Buffalo Bills in 2013

With NFL training camp under way, it’s time to look at the positives of the upcoming Buffalo Bills season.  The negatives have been much easier to cover for the last decade or so, and I don’t plan to dwell on those. You know them well enough. This team lacks the top end talent found all over the AFC, and a wise better wouldn’t wager on the team getting more than five or six...

Shawne Merriman begs Falcons for job on Twitter

Shawne Merriman wants back in the NFL. The former Bills linebacker, who announced his retirement in March, took to Twitter on Sunday night, begging the Falcons to bring him aboard. Merriman has the specifics drawn up, too. https://twitter.com/shawnemerriman/statuses/361567805117702145 Sounds good on paper. But if doesn't work? https://twitter.com/shawnemerriman/statuses...

Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall spotted in walking boot

This is DeAngelo Hall the Redskins' No. 1 cornerback standing on the sidelines Tuesday watching the walkthrough in a walking boot. Hall injured his right ankle Monday but Redskins officials didn't seem overly concerned. “I don't think it's that serious right now” coach Mike Shanahan said. “I know it's quite sore. It takes a little while to find out for...

Mike Pettine’s Blitzes: The 46 Fire Zone

Since being hired as Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator, Mike Pettine has made it clear that his defense will attack. Earlier this offseason, Pettine said “Read and react is not in our vocabulary.” This is most evident in two areas: the 46 defense that was developed by his old boss’s father, Buddy Ryan, and the fire zone blitz. Today, we’ll look at a fire zone blitz run...

Jackson's role in run game to be determined

BY DAN BEGNOCHEC.J. Spiller's breakout performance last season, coupled with a new offensive system, has left fellow running back Fred Jackson's role in the Buffalo Bills' offense a bit of a mystery for the upcoming year.Heck, even his coach isn't quite sure. Both backs have stayed healthy heading into training camp, which has been an issue in the past when the coaching...

T.J. on E.J.: He throws the ball far, I run fast

BY NICK ST. DENISChemistry is easy to create when there isn't another team on the field to impede. It's also easy to create when a trait from one player matches that of another.Buffalo Bills second-year wide receiver T.J. Graham feels the latter is the reason he and rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel have hit it off so far -- at least in his eyes.“Well, he throws the ball far...

Don’t Get Too Comfortable…

© Rick Stewart/Getty Images North America So everything I read in the last 24 hours has to do with Mario Williams’ foot. I understand he left campus, got a second opinion and everything appears to be fine. I am glad the Bills and Mario are being cautious and let’s face it, the team has too much invested for them not to be.  They don’t play the games on Wednesday and it is...

Football Mock Draft Review: Locker Room industry mock (July 17, Jon Collins)

A big thanks to all the outside experts who participated, a full list of which with appropriate kudos appears in our site wide Mock Review coming later this week. In the interim, just check the results here. I built my team around Redskins Running Back Alfred Morris after grabbing him with the 9th overall pick (USA Today Sports Images). I wound up with Alfred Morris at pick nine...

Bills still can't elaborate on Mario's foot issue

BY NICK ST. DENISMario Williams sat out of team drills Sunday and wasn't on the field at all Monday for the team's second training camp practice.Sunday evening, Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone said Williams had a "sore foot" and would be evaluated by the team's medical staff. Late Monday afternoon, Marrone still didn't have an update.“I probably again...
