In the latest news about the NFL’s handling of the New Orleans Saints bounty gate scandal, NFL general counsel Jeff Pash said on Friday that Anthony Hargrove, the former Saints defensive end, who signed with the Green Bay Packers as a free agent this offseason, was suspended by the NFL for eight games season, not for contributing to the program or because of any hits he made, but because he lied about it according to NFL.com. It was believed by some that Hargrove was punished by the league because of an audio clip that came from a video clip of the 2009 NFC Championship against the Minnesota Vikings. The clip, which is an NFL Films audio clip reveals what appears to be Hargrove saying “Bobby give me my money,”  in reference to former Saints defensive end Bobby McCray. On Tuesday, Hargrove denied that it was his voice in the clip and that he did make that statement. Pash, who was being interview by Pro Football Talks Mike Florio, had this to say in response: I suppose you co...

Examining the Anthony Hargrove “Give Me My Money” Video

Here’s a very interesting breakdown by Mike Florio of the National Football Post of the video the NFL claims shows Anthony Hargrove saying “Give me my money.” I don’t agree with Florio on many things, but I believe he is right on the money (pun intended) with this one. There is NO way anyone can watch this video and conclude it’s Anthony Hargrove saying those words. It...

Packers Tough Opponents More Worrisome than Quirky Early-Season Schedule

There is not much structure in the Packers early-season schedule. I’m one of those people that shows up early to work and tries to get as much done as possible before other people start filing into the office and my phone starts ringing. Yeah, it’s no fun dragging myself out of bed at 5:15 a.m., but once I get to the office and get rolling, it’s nice to have a few hours of...

NFL general counsel Jeff Pash told Pro Football Talk that former New Orleans Saints defensive end Anthony Hargrove was suspended eight games for lying about the team's "bounty program," not for taking or contributing money to it. Hargrove, now with the Green Bay Packers, was one of four players who were punished after the NFL investigated the Saints' illegal pay...

Packers' Bulaga wants to stay at right tackle

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- When the Packers used the 23rd overall pick in the 2010 draft to select offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga, it made sense. At the time, veteran left tackle Chad Clifton was about to begin his 11th NFL season at age 34, and his days as a starter appeared to be winding down. Bulaga, who played left tackle at Iowa and was the Big Ten's offensive lineman of the year...

Green Bay Packers Have 2nd Easiest Schedule

The Green Bay Packers have the second easiest schedule going into 2012.  This is based off of 2011 schedule so take what you want from it.  The New England Patriots have the easiest schedule so both franchises appear to be a lock for the playoffs.  Yep, I just said that in June.  Hell, let’s take it a step further and make the Losersbracket.com call of the summer:   Packers...

Packers Now Have Cap Room For Extensions

The Packers released Nick Collins and Chad Clifton, signed their rookies and restructuring Donald Driver's contract in an effort to clear up plenty of cap space for the team. With so many guys on the Packers due for contract extensions, expect almost all of that room to go away sooner rather than later. Greg Jennings is first in line for an extension, and it wouldn't be surprising...

Pash's comments came in an interview with Mike Florio...

Report: Browns not interested in trading for James Jones

Getty Images According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Browns aren’t interested in trading for Packers wide receiver James Jones. It would make sense for the Packers and Browns to work out a deal that would send Colt McCoy to Green Bay for Jones, but both teams aren’t interested in making anything happen.
