If you were following along with Patriots minicamp on Twitter on Tuesday, then you might have noticed a mysterious No. 84 popping up in conversation. Well, we’ve finally figured out who the mystery man was. The Patriots had former New York Jets wide receiver Chaz Schilens in for a tryout on Tuesday, according to ESPN.com, closing our search for the elusive 84. Schilens, 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, was initially mistaken for popular veteran and former Patriots receiver Jabar Gaffney, who checks in at 6-foot-2 and better than 200 pounds himself. So, it’s a pretty reasonable mistake, which befell most of us on Tuesday. Schilens, 27, was a seventh-round pick of the Raiders in 2008. He spent his first four seasons with the Raiders before joining the Jets last season. He caught 28 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games with the Jets, which just so happens to be where new Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow played last season. The Patriots also hosted former Colts wide receiver Austin...

Patriots sign Tim Tebow, will be at minicamp

According to S.I. Wire, The New England Patriots have signed Tim Tebow. Tebow, is expected to participate in the team's mandatory minicamp Tuesday, as a quarterback. This brings Tebow and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels back together. McDaniels was the Denver Broncos' coach when Denver traded into the first round to draft Tebow.

Why Tebow will succeed with Pats

Gisele is why Tim Tebow is in New England. Why he has his first honest-to-goodness chance to be wildly successful in this league at that little job called quarterback. And ultimately why he is going to be. Because when your resume includes banging super models for sport, signing a lifetime deal with the best of that lot, Super Bowl rings and a spot in Canton penciled in and just...

Winslow, Sims-Walker Begin Tryouts

Florham Park, NJ - To say the Jets aren't stacked with receiver and tight end talent would be a huge understatement and that's exactly why John Idzik continued his bargain shopping by extending tryout invitations to Mike Sims-Walker and Kellen Winslow. With Santonio Holmes likely out until some point during training camp, Stephen Hill still working through some minor knee...

Jets Expected To Sign TE Kellen Winslow Following Minicamp

Manish Mehta reports that the Jets will attempt to sign free agent TE Kellen Winslow following this week’s minicamp. Mehta adds that this will only happen if Winslow is able to finish his tryout without suffering a setback to his troublesome knees. Winslow, 29, has reportedly impressed the team during his tryout and the Jets could clearly use some additional help at the position...

Santonio's shooting for training camp

In a piece with Eric Allen of NewYorkJets.com, WR Santonio Holmes said that his rehab, while intensive, is coming along and he's doing all he can to be on the field for training camp.  A Lisfranc injury is a separation of the joints in your foot.  I actually had muscle tear and joint separation, so the injury process for me was a lot longer for some guys who say have...

Report: Tim Tebow Will ‘Study a Great Deal at Tight End’ in Patriots Camp

If Monday’s reports prove accurate, the Tim Tebow circus is about to begin in Foxboro. But unlike Tebow’s highly publicized competition with Mark Sanchez in Jets camp last summer, it is an undeniable certitude that Tebow will not be the starter under center for the Patriots this season. In fact, he may not be playing quarterback at all. Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com cites a source...

Vote: Will Tim Tebow Earn a Spot on the Patriots Roster?

Tim Tebow is heading to New England. According to multiple reports, the former Jets and Broncos quarterback will sign with the Patriots and join the team for minicamp on Tuesday. Will Tebow end up making the squad? Vote below. Take Our Poll

Offense begins with O-Line, begins at Guard

For the 'anemic' Jets offense to become a threat, scoring an average of just 17.6 points (28th) last season, the first place to check may be the offensive line. Sure, the Jets added Chris Ivory to the run game mix, and some realistic competition at QB, but many hold that the trenches decide games. And, at the moment, the Jets line could seem worrysome.  In 2012, the...

Mark Sanchez Calls Jets’ Quarterback Competition ‘Awesome Situation,’ Likely to Start Week 1

Mark Sanchez has some competition for the Jets’ starting quarterback job yet again this offseason, but this time he seems pretty stoked about it. The Tim Tebow experiment backfired miserably on both Sanchez and the Jets in 2012, but the competition with rookie Geno Smith appears to be having a positive effect on Sanchez. “I’m having a great time,” Sanchez said in an interview...

New England a perfect spot for Tebow

In his perfect NFL world, Tim Tebow would have the chance to compete for a starting quarterback spot in 2013. This isn't happening. Thirty teams passed on signing Tebow following his April release from the New York Jets. Those franchises either didn't think he was good enough to help them or weren't interested in the media circus that Tebow always brings to town. But...

AP Source: Tebow to sign with Patriots

A person familiar with the situation says quarterback Tim Tebow will be signing with the New England Patriots and joining their minicamp Tuesday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no official announcement had been made. ESPN first reported that Tebow would sign with New England. One of the NFL's most polarizing players, Tebow spent a lost season in 2012 with...

Rex Ryan on Tim Tebow: “If they want to replace Brady with him, that’s fine.”

The ever quotable Rex Ryan. The New York Jets head coach is always good for saying something funny. Of course, Patriots fans have grown to hate him for his bombastic predictions and Patriots trash talk, however, Ryan isn't all trash talk. He breaks out the jokes too! Ryan held a press conference today for Jets minicamp and obviously Tim Tebow came up. The Patriots just signed...

BY DAN BEGNOCHEWhile displaying some of the inconsistencies typical of a freshman wideout, Stephen Hill showed some flashes in his first season with the New York Jets. But after an electric start that saw him snag five receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns in his first game, Hill battled through injury into December, managing only 21 catches and three scores before hitting IR...
