He was trying for a fresh start with the Baltimore Ravens, but former 1st round pick Rolando McClain is retiring from the NFL at the age of 23, according to BaltimoreRavens.com. The former Butkus Award-winner never lived up to the high expectations that came with him after leaving Alabama and being selected as the eighth-overall pick in 2010. While with the Raiders, McClain started in 38 of the 41 games he appeared in, racking up 175 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Along with his poor performance, McClain found trouble off-the-field. Last year, he was arrested for shooting a gun by a man’s ear. This past January, he was arrested for providing a false name and writing ‘f*ck y’all’ on a ticket he received for illegal window tint on his vehicle. The Raiders released him shortly thereafter The Ravens attempted to give him another shot, but found himself in trouble with the law once again when he was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
