PLAYERS: Owen Daniels
TEAMS: Houston Texans

According to Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net, the Houston Texans are seriously considering drafting Stanford tight end Coby Fleener with the 26th overall pick in this week’s draft.

Even though Owen Daniels has been a good tight end for the Texans, Fleener would present a lot more problems for opposing defenses and can be used more a receiver. Daniels is a better all around player, but Fleener is a more dangerous receiving weapon.

Texans eye receivers, pass rusher in draft

The Houston Texans have focused mostly on defense in the early rounds of recent drafts. This year, they may shift the priority to offense.. The Texans went 10-6 and won their first division title last year, despite playing much of the season without five-time Pro Bowl receiver Andre Johnson. They need another go-to wideout for Matt Schaub. If Houston opts to use its first-round...

Texans Draft Wish List

With the NFL draft closing in, I had to put together my draft wish list going into Thursday’s big day, the NFL Draft. I have compiled a list I have thought out and hopefully ONE will come true on draft day. You will see that there are some specifics, but in some cases there are some players that I would really like to see in a Texans’ uniform. The Texans’ front office has made...

Washington Redskins Sign Veteran Kicker Neil Rackers

Fox 26 in Houston is reporting that former Houston Texans kicker Neil Rackers told them he is signing with the Washington Redskins.  "We're headed to Washington," Rackers said. "I visited with Coach Shanahan and Danny Smith (Special Teams) out there yesterday and really enjoyed what they had to say. I'll be competing for a job with Graham Gano, who is an established...

Compromising Position

Here’s the difficulty with my position: I have to make Texans football attractive to women, yet not repellant to men. Not a lot of stories meeting this criteria during draft season.  Here’s the compromise. I give you a girl story now, I give you draft coverage Friday and Saturday. Fair?  Essentially I am running for student council as an adult against a super cute chick several...

Free agent kicker Rackers signs with Redskins

Free agent kicker Neil Rackers has signed a one-year deal with the Washington Redskins. Rackers, contacted by phone by FoxSportsHouston.com, said he could not wait any longer for a deal from the Texans. "We've spent two years in Houston and had promises for a year and a half of contract extensions," Rackers said. "(The Redskins) came to us with a one-year minimum...

Texans GM: Looking for starters, not needs

Like most NFL General Managers, the Texans' Rick Smith was coy about the team's intentions for the 2012 draft which begins Thursday night. And Smith said despite the Texans' obvious needs at wide receiver and along the offensive line, Smith and his staff do not vary from creating a board based solely on the value of players. "You really gotta believe me when I tell...

Draft Anticipation

Now that the draft is only a few days away the anticipation has mounted greatly in Houston Texans fans. I personally am extremely amped about what the Houston Texans have in store for this year’s draft, and the suspense of the event as a whole is almost unbearable. So many of us feel as though we know exactly what the Texans will pick and we know what’s best for the team. The...
